Reading nonfiction, but no single subject. I will go into Books-a-Million and browse for hours, bouncing from world history to natural history to science to religion to fact books and humor and more. Then I'll come home, settle in the bathtub and read some more.

Books, reading, anything to do with language. Writing in my journal. It sucks me in completely. Also play the harp; and there are certain TV shows that I'll get obsessed with completely and watch on a marathon.

I tend to like animals more then I like people. I also like babies. IDK. Babies don't talk bad to you, neither animals.

Nothing in particular. I have flash in the pan obsessions sometimes but they don't last for more than a couple of weeks. Then I lose interest in them again. Another reason why I think I may not be aspie after all despite the diagnosis.

My lifelong obsession has been fictional characters and imaginary friends. Not just the concept of imaginary friends, but actually having them myself. I obsess over fictional characters because I find that creating my own is too challenging and unsatisfying. So it only makes sense that I would take established characters from the media and turn them into my own imaginary friends.

Throughout most of my life (childhood/adolescence), I would become really obsessed with specific characters and they'd be my imaginary friends for several years at a time. Generally I'd have them up to 3 years at a time. I could be wrong but I believe that the longest I've ever had a specific character as an imaginary friend was 6 years (title character of Balto, between the ages of 5 and 11). Can't remember what the shortest was. Last year I was completely without imaginary friends, and I was miserable. This year I have regained the ability to have imaginary friends, but instead of obsessing over a specific group of characters, I rotate between different favorites on an almost daily basis. It's pretty frustrating because I wish I could get super-obsessed with specific ones like I used to instead of continuously losing and regaining interest in different ones.

Sorry kind of went off on a tangent there... ^^;

Academics in general. I was equal across the board (ie tended to get A grades in any subject I studied, except for the C I got for Geography once, but the next time I go an A for the same subject on a different course lol).

My skills: Painting, especially landscapes. However, I want to paint more sci-fi scenes. Coming up with sci-fi stories. I tried writing but it takes a lot of mental effort and stimulants, so I just play them in my mind. I've got a good problem solving ability too. I'm always surprised when people get so stuck on an issue. And memorizing facts like a lot of people here.

Current Interests:

New interests:

Marvel comics. My housemate has a stack of Marvel and DC comics. I'm focused on Avengers and Thor at the moment. Since I quite Ritalin I'm not capable of taking it huge amounts of text (like my usual physics books) so I think I could just read comic books forever.

Skylanders. My nephew got me into the games. It's good fun and I'm never good at sticking with a videogame until I complete it. I also get to bond with my nephew at a level few adults ever can, because I probably know half as much as my suspected AS nephew does.

TV shows Like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, The Big Band Theory and The Blacklist.

Old interests I tend to cyclic back and forth from:

Physics

Astronomy. One day I will get back into it as intensely as I did when I lived in a suburban town. City life has blotted out the stars for me a bit.

Neuroscience. I'm reading a book called The Ravenous Brain that has piqued my interest again.

Science-fiction like Doctor Who, Ender's Game, Firefly, Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, etc. There's more focus on Ender's Game and Doctor Who lately. I just finished watching the original series of BSG too. Plus, I've always got room for Star Trek.

The Air Force. Particularly the Royal Australian Air Force.

Writing mental health blogs. They help me get a load off my mind and help me work out some issues plaguing my mind.

Music. I tend to focus on Australian rock bands like You Am I. But I've got a whole playlist full of US rock/punk/emo (and some hardcore) bands. I pretty much live the gig going life with my friends.

Photography. Woops. Forgot to mention this. This should be under my skills too because I make a fine live band photographer. I have an attention to detail and an obsession with taking wide photographs with my fisheye lens. The attention to detail helps my photography stand out. Some real popular bands know who I am and that just makes me feel all nice and warm inside.

Film. I've been watching films and being influenced by them since before kindergarten. I would love to be a screen writer but for now just make up very vivid stories in my mind. I don't just watch a lot of movies but study the whole structure of them. I prefer sci-fi/fantasy but like films about kids (think Stand By Me) and spy movies.

I kind of like history but have the worse memory for dates and often get them in the wrong order.

I think that's it. There might be a few people who are special interests too. Music scene related.

I'm good at remembering characters/actors, even minor ones, from TV and movies.Like i was watching an episode of this one show and there was an actor where I instantly knew where I'd seen him before.

Tolerance and compassion for those with more severe disabilities...

Very high ability for attention to detail with word and number proofreading, with no training. (As if I already was skilled in doing that when tested, though never done it before.)
