Asperger and lack of reciprocity

If someone asks me: "How are you?" I usually ask them: "Do you want the social answer or the real answer?"
If they say "Social", I say: "I'm fine thanks, how are you?"
If they say "Real answer", I tell them how I am really feeling and sometimes a conversation will ensue.
(Of course, some of the time my question just provokes a blank look, in which case I say: "I'm fine thanks", and move on)

I do this all the time with customers at work. I am always surprised at how many people ask for the "real answer" considering all the "experts" tell me that the socially acceptable response is always correct.
Most times when I give the real answer it leads to interesting conversations (for me anyways), sometimes I get to talk about my special interests to a willing listener, which is double bonus.
