Did you infer rules of behaviour from TV and media
Apart from teachers at school, the only intercourse I had with my parents involved pain or humiliation, most of the time they kept me alone in my room.
Hence I must have learnt how to behave from the adults I saw on the TV before about %:30 when I would have to go to bed.
I loved the Samantha from "Bewitched", she was the Mother I wanted.
"Dad" was Adam West as Batman.
My favourite though was Lost in Space, whilst I never liked the Smith character, I was exposed to a lot of his influence and do hope It didn't influence me.
Just like superliminary and Aardvark, it did not yield all that many good results.
That's so interesting, and embarrassing. I had the same. Luckily I was in the process of heading to university so picked Willow as a model. It worked reasonably well.
There should be some sort of debriefing session at the end of a tv show.
As embarrassing as it sounds, I don't think I learned anything about social interaction from watching television. I might have picked up some things subconsciously, but in my opinion, I subconsciously tuned out anything about proper behavior (or even improper behavior) because I thought "It's just a cartoon. It's not real."
