Out of my parents, my father probably has the most AS traits. He's not too social, and is an electrician.

They have a few, but I'd still call them NT

My mom seems to have an obsession with General Hospital. Sometimes she gets other obsessions too like right now it seems to be Spider Solitare and playing Star Wars on the computer, lol she is kinda geeky and that's probably why I love her. She enjoys being social though and is good at it. My mom has a similar tic/stim that I have. She brings her fingers to her face and wiggles them when she gets frustrated. I've never personally seen her do this however. She probably subconsciously hides it like I do.

My dad, well he is a scientist if that means anything. He doesn't like to socialize a whole lot, but will if he needs to. He doesn't like talking on the phone long, going to parties, or do presentations at work. He will do these though, with the exception of work parties. Sometimes he skips out on those. His one main obsession to everyone's annoyance is flying. He just bought himself a Cessna airplane last year. Honestly, I think he cares more about flying than the family. Also he seems to be sensitive to criticism and he takes things very very personally.

My brother would say he's shy, but I say not considering how much he talks on the phone with his girlfriend. His girlfriend seems to have a borderline personality considering how she treats him, but I'm not going to go there. My brother is the most NT-like in the family.

My family on the whole is kinda geeky/nerdy, not extremely NT. We are like the video gaming family too because we all play them. I grew up on video/computer games. I think that's cool.

Nope, not even close. There used to be a lot of friction and I was estranged from my parents for a period of time. There were quite stunned when I told them of my diagnosis. They feel pretty bad about it but there's nothing we can do about that now except move forward.

Not really. My biological father has a lack of empathy, but his isn't Aspie lack of empathy. I believe him to have either Antisocial Personality Disorder or Narcissistic Personality Disorder, so it's not that he can't properly express feelings, it's that he honestly doesn't care about hurting other people. He enjoys being cruel, and will try any means to get what he wants, whether he has to manipulate, lie, or commit criminal acts. Anyway, my mom doesn't like people, either, but she's not socially awkward. She just doesn't trust people anymore, after all that we went through with my father. My mom's side is very perfectionistic, and I believe her and her parents to have a mild case of OCPD. But there isn't anything else. I honestly don't know where my Asperger's came from. Just out of nowhere. No genetic basis or anything. Who knows?

My father has many AS traits - obbessions, sense issues, aloof, withdrawn, good with technology/math, takes things literally, ect.
My mother has practically none. In fact, they're complete opposites.

My Dad had some traits, but was far too social to have AS.

My son had such a profound set of symptoms a few years back that we took him to the doctor. However, he seems to have lost most of them, but still has a few.

Rest of the family seem fully NT to me.

Not a jot of AS in either of my parents. I hear that my dad's mum is odd though. She never wants any contact with us apart from by letter occasionally and she has huge collections. I always felt really confused that I was nothing like any of my family but maybe I got some genes from her.
