What was Your Autism Evaluation Like?
I'd be interested in that as well. I've never found anything of the sort, however.
Not a study, but I can give you one more data point (me).
I was not administered the Wisconsin Card Sorting Task. From my understanding, it seemed most similar to the Booklet Category Test (BCT-2) that I took. I scored 129 (97th percentile) on the BCT-2.
On the WMS-IV, my auditory memory index score was 68 (2nd percentile) and my visual memory was 126 (96th percentile). My immediate and delayed memory scores are not particularly meaningful because they combine auditory and verbal memories (to say I am almost exactly "average", which I am not).
I went for some sessions, and then a WAIS, and the psychologist concluded:
ASF (DSM V) – Aspergers syndrom (ICD-10 F84.5), DSM-IV
He "gave" me a light portion of ADHD too.
All in all it took two months: 3 sessions of talk and some face-to-face testing and then 4 times on WAIS and an evaluation.

I've just had mine today with North Bay Regional Center in CA, and I'm dissatisfied with it.
When I called to request the evaluation two months ago, the employee took a basic history: education, work, medical. Later, I had a face-to-face appointment with an intake worker who took a more in-depth history (lasted about 45 minutes) and asked for school records. I also gave permission for the organization to get my medical records from previous psychological evaluations. My mom was supposed to call them.
A few days ago, I received a 9 - 10 pg. form (the Adaptive Behavior Assessment System) to fill out.
I met with the psychologist today. It lasted less than two hours. The only IQ testing he did was Raven's Matrices, and it was very easy the whole way through (I went through the whole book). The online tests I've taken were far more difficult. I'd asked for IQ testing, but everyone seems to assume that I'm an all-around genius just because I have a physics degree.
He showed me a book with no words and asked me to talk about what was happening in the pictures. Then I did the same thing with a laminated drawing or painting, then with a series of picture cards. He gave me a towel and a bar of soap and told me to use gestures to show him how humans wash their faces and brush their teeth. He gave me a bag full of totally random items and told me to make up a story, commercial, etc. about them.
He asked me several questions about what my feelings felt like, my future plans (work and education), my motivation and feelings about my hobbies, the dynamics of my past friendships and relationship, and getting along with others at work/school. Near the end he left the room and then returned with a few items for me to play with while he made his final notes.
Now I have to wait 3-4 weeks for the results.
Why does everyone else's evaluation last like multiple hours and sometimes multiple days? I was surprised how short mine was.

When I went for my re-evaluation of ASD, it was actually quite simple. I told him how I was doing and showed him the records from where I was diagnosed with PDD-NOS at like age 5/6.

My scores on the Wechsler Memory Scale (WMS-IV) were quite low:
- Immediate Memory = 13 Percentile
- Delayed Memory = 14 Percentile
- Visual Memory = 25 Percentile
- Auditory Memory = 25 Percentile
- Symbol Span = 50 Percentile
I found this interesting, because I scored much higher on the WAIS Working Memory Tests (where I was in the 99 percentile for Arithmetic and 63 Percentile for Digit Span).
My scores on the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST-R) were also quite low. Which was a huge surprise to me. It seemed so simple and straightforward. The test included a number of categories (Total Number/Percent of Errors, Perseverative Responses/Percent, Perseverative Errors/Percent, Nonperseverative Errors/Percent, % Conceptual Level Responses, Number of Categories Completed, etc.). My percentile ranged from 16-37%.
I wish I better understood the relationship between all these scores. The Psychologist (who diagnosed me) sort of explained it. But not enough (for my satisfaction).

I was evaluated in late winter or early spring earlier this year, so I was diagnosed using DSM IV, I believe. I also think I was diagnosed by a children's psychologist. I'm sorry I'm so vague about it. I really don't remember it that clearly, I just remember the diagnosis progress itself.
I went to see the lady who diagnosed me two times. The first time was to see if I should even be tested on at all. I was asked various questions, like about sensory issues, social issues, that sort of thing. It was kind of boring.
The second time, I was taken into this smallish room with just a table and two chairs. I was evaluated by a different lady than the first one.
This part is what stood out to me. There were a whole lot of different tests; I'll try and list as many as I can remember.
-There were blocks with patterns, and I had to arrange them to match patterns depicted on a piece of paper
-There was a picture book with no words that I had to look through and tell the lady what happened in the story
-She would repeat a sequence of numbers and letters, and I would have to repeat it back to her. This got really complicated, cause they would get long, and sometimes I would have to say them in alphabetical/numerical order, or backwards, or something like that.
-I was asked to describe my closest friends
-There were a whole bunch of groups of three or more pictures. In each group, I had to pick the one that didn't belong.
-I was given a pattern of pictures, and I had to pick the one that came next
-I was given a washcloth and bar of soap, and asked to act out my morning routine using the props
-There were some random objects I had to pick from, and then I had to make a story out of them
My diagnosis was most likely what you would go through if you were younger, so I'm not sure if it's that helpful to you personally. It might be, though; I'm not really sure what the process is for adults.
