For people with classic Autism how do Aspies come Across?
Nonverbal LFA kids that I work with often seem to pick up on my differences. They're often fascinated by me, and act more social and responsive to me than to other people. Dunno if they realize I'm autistic, or if they even have a concept of what autism is, but they do seem to notice something different about me as opposed to NTs.

I I know this is kind of late. I don't really understand your question but I'm going to try to answer it anyway. I have never met somebody with as I have only met other people who are classically autistic although there is one or two who I think would be AS I don't know if she's diagnoses as ASnot I'm just making assumptions.
If someone who was AS came me I probably wouldn't notice it because I will bee to focused in my world trying to avoid contact with people or I wouldn't notice cause they were being too busy acting like an nt or would more likely be too nervous or shy to come talk to me. Since I never look in anyone's eyes except my grandma and even when I am looking in their eyes in my mind I'm not looking at their eyes and I don't even think about looking at their eyes. I wouldn't be able to tell someone was not looking at me and even if I could tell if I would notice it.
If you want asked my opinion on people with AS versus people with classic autism I think the people with as have more social problems if you would autism might have more developmental problems with learning as well as social or not even noticing these social issues. From what I've seen more classically autistic is more obvious so they get more recognition and more understanding as well as more bladed knocking do two people thinking they don't understand although this can vary by situation.
I have to say this is really hard for me to know due to me being classically autistic and also due to me not meeting anyone with higher functioning autism or asperger's. I'm just making the assumption that since a lot of Aspies like to try to act like NTS it will be hard for me to understand that because I don't know NT at all.

I'm still in a learning state with all of this, so this isn't me arguing...I want to learn.
How can you have a language delay, but not have late speech??
Like so:
(B) qualitative impairments in communication as manifested by at least one of the following:
1. delay in, or total lack of, the development of spoken language (not accompanied by an attempt to compensate through alternative modes of communication such as gesture or mime)
2. in individuals with adequate speech, marked impairment in the ability to initiate or sustain a conversation with others
3. stereotyped and repetitive use of language or idiosyncratic language
4. lack of varied, spontaneous make-believe play or social imitative play appropriate to developmental level
Apparently many people with AS meet the second criteria. I don't think there have been studies on the third criteria, but many people diagnosed with AS have reported experiencing that one. I did.
Plus add selective mutism to all that and you have a child who has hardly any time being able to build on what little language skills they have.

In the school I went to there were kids from one end of the spectrum to the other, with me somewhere in the middle. I did not really view people differently as far as a "them and us" type thing. We were all in the same boat there. To me anyone who relates with autism and struggles with autistic traits is in the same boat as me - we belong to the same club.
