haha, if someone doesnt have a avatar, chances are i wont remember them, or if they have a name that doesnt make sense, like iruosrb99, i wont remember them and itll frustrate me.

i can reconize anyone with an Avatar, although its stressful when they change it.

i can also reconize someone with a name thats easy to read and catchy.

I keep getting people here mixed up with each other.

There are a whole bunch of people I know by name, especially if I've interacted with them, but others I keep thinking are someone else. It gets worse when they change their icon. Is this like face blindness, but internet blindness?

We need a chart or something (or am I the only one)?

I can't even tell my girlfriend and her sister apart. They find that hilarious but I'm terrified I'll hug the wrong one or talk to the wrong one thinking it is the other. Also, if someone at work gets a hair cut or changes something about themselves I have to ask them if they are the person I think they are. Finally, I have a great deal of difficulty remember remembering people's names. I never remember anyone on the internet as well. Should we be remembering people on the internet?

Yeah I hate those iruosrb99 type user names. And some of them never have an av either. Maybe they want to go unnoticed. As I spend more time here, I am remembering the catchy or easy user names of those who post a lot.
Like when Willard changed his av, it took me a few, but I caught on and thought "oh yeah, that's Willard".
I've changed my av a few times as ive settled in, but they have all looked similar being an anime emoish type boy around my age.

I don't change my avatar because this is what I really look like.

I remember names online but remember faces better in person.

I'm not face blind it seems as I usually recognise people but can never remember what the hell they are called.

I used to like changing my screen name but can't do that here. Besides it pisses people off for some reason. I just get bored with the same log in nick and so had a huge list of them I'd pick from or just make up another:

Moonlight_Magic
Princess Of The Damned
Coconut Kitten
Enigmatic soul
Fairy Dancer
Bumble
Little Lemming Lass
Ms Discombobulated

Are just a few I remember from the last few years. I used to like writing, I had some poetry published in a book as a teenager. Coming up with new online names amuses me when I am bored but people screech at me for it and accuse me of trying to manipulate them.

Um paranoid much? I only changed my nick name because I thought of a new one...

I'm really bad at remembering names and faces. I identify people here by their avatar.

Changed my cat avatar, which was my cat, to no avatar, as for a while it seemed as I have to change housing I would loose my cats, and it made me sad to loose my cats and that's why I deleted cat avatar but now I can keep them, so I will put cat avatar back :D when I am at my pc with photo-files, am now on laptop with no photo-files.

My avatar does not change completely. If anything, I have often changed my signature.

I changed my avatar once but, you know, it kinda makes sense with my name. When Willard changed his I got freaked out because I don't like the feeling of melted wax.

Here's a question, folks. How do I make a "signature"? I tried in my account page and nothing shows up. Drives me nutty. Also I would love to change "Phoenix" to something cool like "fhghsjj" or something like that.

Generally, I like to choose one avatar and stick to it; it makes it easy for people to recognise me at a glance. The only reason I don't use my "standard avatar" here (currently being replaced, across all places I use, with my social media headshot) is because I haven't "come out" across the entire the real world about my AS; here, I use a cat picture that I have never posted online anywhere else.

The only time I ever will replace my avatar is if I ever come out publicly, in which case I will use the headshot.

For me, I can pick out usernames easily and avatars are really just a speed boost to identification, so it's not the end of the world, unless I am searching in a long thread for somebody specific.

I finally uploaded an avatar, since other people seem to like them... I'll see if I can get used to it!

Sorry, I don't know. I thought there was a place where you just typed it in.
