Any other aspies not really interested in animals?

Oh, I loved animals when I was younger, entirely too much. I went overboard in my opinion on some issues. I even wanted it to be a law that you should go to prison if you ran over an animal. All that changed when I had my first baby.

Now, I of course don't want animals to suffer, but I don't really think about animals other than my two dogs. I still dislike the cat but I'm OK with her for the moment, and my younger son and his gf recently got the cutest puppy, but my two dogs are the ones I have feelings for. I don't really care for cats very much, and I actively loathe small dogs for some reason. I don't really think about wild animals or cattle or anything.

I'm not really an animal person. I don't dislike animals at all, and I couldn't hurt one and would hate to see an animal suffer. But I'm not like an animal lover. It doesn't mean I don't think they are cute. It's just that I can't always be bothered to stand there squealing and cooing at an animal like some people do. I prefer to just stand quietly, casually say ''aww, look, ain't he/she cute?'' and just watch them, not keep on and on going into raptures like I never seen an animal before.

Animal suffering sucks but honestly human suffering bothers me a lot more. Though I will say those animal rescue commercials are pretty hard to watch, while for some reason the ones with kids aren't so much. I guess the ones with kids aren't as overdramatic with the music and all.

Genuinely don't and haven't ever cared about animals, especially dogs.

Dogs annoy me, they bark and insist on smelling you and everybody seems to think they're cute when they aren't, and the way everybody acts like they're amazing, it's just annoying...

I love animals. I've always had cats and they're great but I also love dogs and just about any other animal. I tend to get into trouble though because I always want to pet an animal I see -even wild ones.
