the closest I get to that is that depending on the juxtaposition of the minute and hour hand on an analog clock face, I see people's faces- e.g., 4:37 looks like a totally different person than 10:45.

That is a minor side-obsession of mine. The whole 3:33 thing.

I like figuring out the day of the week for any date in the Gregorian Calendar. That's a fun number obsession. It's not savantism for me, just calculation, and it's a fun game to play with friends.

Me too. I've been doing it since I was four or five. Haven't really told anyone about it though.

I did think about majoring in mathematics. I began my time at university as a physics major. All was gong well until I took linear algebra. "Imagine an n dimensional matrix with x columns and rows in each dimension n" - that was the end for me. It got too abstract for my brain, and I realized I couldn't do it. So I switched majors. But I do like math games. Once, for kicks, I decided to prove that the ratio between a cylinder of diameter x and height x, that the proportion between it and a sphere of diameter x (which fits nicely inside) is 3/2 - which Archimedes figured out without using a method which prefigured calculus. It took me an afternoon, but I did it. It was fun. And I still like figuring out the day of the week for any date. It's not a savant skill, it's a math skill, but I've gotten good at it, and it makes people go, "Wow, that's awesome!" And, as we all know, everything is awesome, and since I am part of everything, I have the awesome responsibility to be awesome, too.

To Hawaii? It was great. We stayed on Kauai. It was me, my mom and my mom's sister. Mom and I had great bonding time together. It was great to feel the sun, the water and the sand. We had such a good time that next year we're going to Maui. 8)

I think November through March might be the best times to experience it down there.
