The religion of Autism Speaks
I've been suspicious for a long time of "charities". Especially if they are promoted to the mainstream. Everything that is presented to the masses is manipulated. Everything becomes exploited eventually and it pisses me off. I am glad for the internet. It provides a place to inform people without having to be sponsored. The people who benefit (in the background of course) are probably involved in government and they probably make money off of prescription medication.
Or...they could be the same people f*****g up the earth and everything on it. Creating something that supposedly needs to be "fixed" so that they can benefit from "fixing" the "problem". But I see Aspergers as being a catalyst for the world to change for the better because really we notice all the things that should change inorder for people to have a conscious, self-aware experience.

The only time an advocacy group like that can be created is when the members of it actually experience the condition themselves.
For example, take the Boston Strong movement. With the Marathon coming next week, everyone is gearing up to protest against the terrorists from last year. They understand because they are Bostonians. Or a terminal cancer support group. Everyone shares the condition and knowing you could die soon is a clear traits not shared by everyone.
So why can't the same be said for autism?
