I don't think I've ever had trouble talking to doctors. But then again, my dad and my brother are bother doctors, and my mom and sister-in-law are both nurses so I'm pretty used to being around doctors and the like.

Only thing to do for me is write down your symptoms, detailing everything that's wrong so a doctor can relay that information and read it for themselves. The secondary questions are a lot easier to answer after that.

Other than the anxiety and pressure to answer an individual in uniform, there's often a foreign accent barrier I can't understand what is said sometimes. Otherwise it's often easier to talk to an individual in authority compared to a typical individual.

I write down sort of like a shopping list, before going to Doctor. Stuff like symptoms, how often they occur, what time and such.

They always say it helps, because then i just give it to them and i dont have to listen to all sorts of odd questions.

if i was a doctor, i would sure wish that people could gather as much information about their problems and some with it written down, because it easier to get a quick overview and make sure they remember all the little details.

Not at all. I typically annoy them by asking too many questions (e.g. when they are performing a procedure on me).

I get that way too. They tend to not like that I ask or "Challenge" them with questions and some I know will lead to a specific answer they tend to turn away from. Quite annoying for me, I dont care if it is for them. They shouldnt be doctors then.

I can't stand talking to doctors. They always want you to hurry up and just spit out what you want to ask them about, and then afterwards they're like "you sound depressed, here take these pills", instead of offering any actual help. At least that's what the ones I've seen have been like. The last few times I went to see a doctor, I had to bring my dad with me to explain what was wrong, but now I don't have that option.

I actually need to see a doctor some time in the near future about some *rather personal* issues, but I have no idea how I'm going to line things up or explain it all to him.

I feel rushed all the time too. I took my fiance with me a few times and he says the doctors are not rushing me, its just my anxiety or my communicatin issue most likely. I am reading them all as if they dont believe me before I even meet them so that ahead of time thinking probably does not help me much. I hate how doctors try to push depression meds! Stupid. I hope you find a way to talk about your *rather person issues*
.

I find most doctors to be rude, heartless, and arrogant, they tend to have a god complex and to believe they are better than everybody else. At least this is what I have experienced. You are just a number to them not a person.

They also tend to judge me right off the bat, thinking I am a criminal or an addict because of my tattoos. If I go to the hospital for pain they automatically think I am looking for drugs. A prime example was just recently I went in for stomach pain four days in a row and the doctor told me I was exaggerating and I didn't need to be wasting their time, that I should take some medicine to help me poop but she was not going to prescribe me any pain medicine. It ended up being a appendicitis, which I had learned on my fifth trip back at the hospital this time in the ER. But this was not an isolated incidence, this happens to me all the time. I hate doctors and nurses, going to the hospital is always a bad experience.

I know their is something going on with my intestine/stomach that they are not exploring. I also hate how they do not think I am in pain because I do not show it in my appearance or mannerisms. I have learned to reject all pain meds but in doing that I think it still makes them believe I am not in much pain so its a lose lose.

I do write things down ahead of time. Then I am never presented a time to give it to them, and when I do, I feel stupid so I dont give it to them because I think they will judge me. I try to say my list like a normal person but it comes out all stupid like. I need to not be afraid of giving them my written list.

I always just give it to them when i first see them. It might seem stupid, but so far ive only heard doctors tell me, that they wish everyone did that, because it saves them a lot of time having to ask questions which people dont remember precisely and or guessing.

Should never feel stupid about it.

My last annual with my doctor was in 2011, and it was a disaster!
