I was a good kid, I didn't scream and squeal and stuff.

I was quiet at school but didn't do the work because I could not concerntrate on it, Teachers thought that was naughty.

I don't think so, but my mother, teachers and everyone who knew me would disagree.

I lit fires, brought a knife to school, constantly walked out of class when I thought what we were doing was pointless, only once did any homework (you had to write a biography of a person of your choice, which I found fun), was always getting into arguments with teachers and there's a lot of stuff I have selected not to remember... I also think the teachers didn't like me because sometimes it seemed I was smarter than them.

I left school when I was around 12 (on the second day of high school) and never went back, up until that point I did test well above average, but I think I'm forgetting stuff now.

When I was a lot younger, I used to kick and scream any time my mum left me anywhere for longer than a few minutes (nursery and stuff) and any time I got took to the dentist/docter.

I'm a lot nicer now and better behaved, I think this is because I get to do mostly what I want and that keeps me happy. :D

I wasn't naughty. I was an angel. But very quiet. That was after I went to school though. Up to kinder age things had to be MY way and no one elses. I was never a li'l demon though. Contrary to what my Mother says. These are the reports of the teachers.

not generally,

I (used?) to like setting things fires (controlled - nothing got out of hand). There was a few times I did things that I couldn't say why at the time and still can't now.

Same here! I used to muck about and giggle in class in primary school, and I remember the teacher smacking me because of this. I was very upset. I still get upset when I'm told off as I never mean to be bad..... I'm 38 now FFS!

I was good as gold through most of school. I rarely spoke though throughout primary school, which some teachers loved but one hated me for it. I think I was constantly terrified of getting into trouble because I knew I wouldn't be able to talk my way out of it ( I think I had selective mutism for a few years). If I ever did anything naughty I'd get really upset and lose it. But I only remember that happening twice.

I remember being told that if you are really, really good......you will get to ascend to heaven without having to die. So,I was constantly trying to be "good"....I was taught even bad thoughts were sins and would count against you,so I tried to not even think badly of others. This rigid moralization just turned me into a self-righteous tattle-tale.Inspite of trying to be good.....My mom says I was always arguing with her about rules I thought were stupid and my teachers said I wouldnt stay in my seat after I was done with my work.

I was always getting into trouble from my mom for doing smoething wrong,no matter how hard I tried to be good,so I ended up "rebelling" at 16 but I still tried not to hurt anyone else....just stopped following rules.

A mate told me this.
It's called cat-sticking. As a lad, he and several mates would toss kittens up into a tree to see who could 'stick the most cats'. He said it was a jolly competition to get the most, and the highest. Sad though, when they missed the tree completely.

Personally I never did anything like this as I was afraid of being naughty ! !!

Oh God, lol, that is awful, but for some reason it amuses me too as it reminds me of another era like the 40s or something. I think there is something in the combination of the words 'kittens' and 'sticking' that has appealed to me... but then I suppose 'kitt' and 'stick' do rhyme so maybe that is it.

That's animal cruelty and they can be arrested for it.

Maybe so if it were recent, but since the post is written in the past tense and because Prof is not that young a man, one must assume it took place quite some years ago so no, they cannot be arrested. And the animal cruelty laws we have now were probably not even in place now, though they might have been. :) On the other hand, if this were being done in the present time, yes I am sure they could be arrested.

Only if you have a time machine to go back forty-some years ! !! He did that as a lad, and he's slightly older than I am, which puts him around the time dirt was invented ....

Um, I thought it might have happened in the 40s rather than 50s

Actually it happened shortly after we all moved out of caves. The kittens were saber-tooth.

Yew know, Fred Flintstone and all that ...
