Find a variety of clothes you like wearing, but do wash them before they smell. If you get similar clothes, you can wear clothes you like while the others are in the washing. I tend to like bands related shirts, but I rotate them. Like I may wear a Def Leppard shirt one day, then a The Beat shirt. You just have to wash them at the right setting, or their patterns fade out.

Yes I would agree with this, just want to add that if you wash clothes at 30 degrees they stay nice for much longer than if you wash them at 40 degrees. I wash everything at 30 even if the label says 40. I've found that washing at 40 makes them look shabby after about 10-20 washes. Anyway back to the topic :D I have a small selection of clothes that are similar in style but different enough for people to notice I've changed my clothes. I tend to get paranoid that others are talking about me so I usually change my outfit every day so they cannot accuse me of being smelly. Some people do notice and talk about people wearing the same clothes, I know this because I've heard them discuss other people before.

I protested and said that I washed my clothing twice a week (I just threw everything in the washer at the same time and didn't separate them) and I had like 4 shirts and 4 pants. I also bathed twice a day and even had OCD and would wash myself until I bled, so I KNOW I was clean. But then I started to get worried. It was both males and females who would make fun of me. And my clothes never smelled, btw

You possibly worry way too much, and possibly also wash the clothes much more often than is actually needed for them to be perceived as clean.

I dislike shopping for clothes. On average I probably replace a few items that are worn out once every two years. Similar rules apply to shoes. Usually I buy one new pair of shoes per year.

If clothes are uncomfortable I can't wear them. I have little patience trying out new clothes in a shopping mall. The stress of sensory overload and the waste of time are not worth my while. My selection criteria:

1. Comfort
2. Quality and durability
3. Style that is reasonably compatible with neurotypical expectations

As a result, around 14 years ago I've identified one particular chain of shops that offers a small selection of high quality comfortable clothes, and I visit one of the shops once every two years or so, to replace worn out items. A few years ago they opened an online store. Since I now know my sizes, and since the store apparently continues the same product lines over a period of several years, I simply order the "usual" items, typically at least two of each kind, and get them delivered to my doorstep.

As I think others have already mentioned, simply getting a favourite item in different colours ensures that you're not perceived to be wearing the same "unwashed" clothes every day.

One caveat: I really don't care much about how I am perceived by others.

Nevertheless, I work as an IT and management consultant, and for the last two decades have never heard anyone comment negatively about my clothes. I do remember a few stupid comments from a pretentious boss on my first job 26 years ago, but these have not influenced my choice of clothes

I agree with whats been said.Your comfort is more important than what others think is trendy.I have found pants that i like and have four pairs of them three of the same colour, there cheap too 17$ i founr 5$ tshirts i like too,i get the blue ones.If people judge me for it then those are the people i dont want to hang out with or be friends with.I just make sure there clean.
I would not judge others for it and expect the same from them.
Wear whats comfortable for you, thats whats important.

Getting the same style in different colors is probably what you should do if you don't feel like being questioned. That's a good idea.

I have five shirts and only two pairs of pants I WILL wear.

SoI just have a week of the same clothes. Pants are good till a week before needing a wash, so I tend to wash the other pair I will wear and then wear that the next week for the rest of the weekk. Yeah I'm horrible.

But I am currently a NEET sooo.

Well, Einstein did it so you're in good company.

I hate shopping for clothes so if I find a pair of jeans that fit I'll probably buy two or three pairs then wear them in rotation, the same thing happens to sneakers and t-shirts. Do something similar and you'll be fine.

Going to school I'd probably want to have at least 2 different colours/styles of pants to rotate through vs. the same ones every single day just to avoid looking exactly the same ALL the time, as the potential social problems and judgements that could cause are worse than being slightly less comfortable in your 2nd favourite pair of pants.

Going to work (construction) is a different story for me. I'll wear the same pair of blue jeans all week long w/o washing them. No one notices or cares, as pretty well everyone is wearing blue jeans. I do own more, I just don't see a point in getting all of them dusty/dirty, and it's convenient and comfortable just to throw the same pair on every day. If it's a particularly hot week and I sweat quite a bit I'll wash them mid week, but since I don't typically sweat much it's just concrete dust & sawdust etc on them so I just brush them off and wear 'em again. My car is getting a bit dusty, though, and needs a good vacuuming. Good thing it's a cheap a-beater s**t can that is a-okay to get dusty! :P

I wear jeans and t-shirts all the time. I have mostly black t-shirts (some from thinkgeek with sayings on them), but a couple of other colours, and more than one of a couple of colours. Sometimes I think that when I wear one navy blue t-shirt, and wear a different navy blue t-shirt the next day, that people might think I was wearing the same clothes 2 days in a row, but I don't really care because they'll either talk about it behind my back or they'll say something to me, in which case, I would tell them that I have two of the same colour. If they just talk about me behind my back, I don't tolerate that kind of behaviour, so I wouldn't want to be friends with them anyway.

The reason why I have so many shirts of the same colours is because whenever I go shopping for new shirts, they always have the same colours - black, navy blue, retina burning red, gray, or sinus infection green. The red is usually so bright it hurts my eyes, so I don't buy that one. The green is usually a digusting shade, so I don't buy that one. Sometimes they have light blue, but that colour kind of makes me look like I'm sick, so I don't usually wear that colour. I've noticed that when I wear gray on a sunny day, it burns more than if I wear a black t-shirt, so I've been moving away from gray in the last few years. That leaves black and navy blue. Which is usually what I end up buying.
They usually have white t-shirts as well, but I hate wearing white because you can see right through it. Forget about wearing it without a bra. (I don't wear a bra when I'm at home, but I do wear one when I go out. And I live with other people, which is why I can't wear white t-shirts without a bra underneath).
