You'd be surprised but... I can actually function very well. The only time I can't is during my meltdowns. Other than that, I can go about my business like any normal person can. Occasionally, I do rock myself or wring my hands at my sides though, but I don't do it often.

I don't really do anything specific to function in public...I either dress like a metalhead and/or punk or I wear random vintage and or just unusual clothes. I do not really want to be mistaken for a normal person though, then I wouldn't know how to keep the act up, but if I dress like that people aren't all that weirded out if I come off as unusual socially. I also am a bit of a stoner so I think people probably initially attribute some things to that.

I have gotten compliments on clothing items, as there are people that like my style......but yeah I guess if anything I don't try to blend in but I don't do anything that really disrupts the public all that much don't really do anything to fit in or fake more normalcy either. Though I am sure I seem unapproachable to a lot of people, I also listen to headphones a lot in public, though sometimes I take them out when I am in the mood for random conversation if it happens.

As for getting stuff done when I go out in public its about 50/50, I a lot of times don't end up with all I left for....or I forget items I wanted at the store even when I write a list, it also takes me along time to look at stuff in stores but its not entirely hopeless.

I was felt as though when my parents are around, I'm never myself. They often condemn and judge the friends I have or their actions (like wearing vintage stop watches or purchasing shrunken heads :P) but around them alone or even people from school like friends or teachers, I've been much more open and myself. I miss school greatly because of the freedom I've had to truly live as myself, not contained in the illusion from my parents that dictates I need to wear a mask.

I tend to keep to myself or my girlfriend but can socialize when I have to.
