Wow, the "more than two" is winning so far.

Who else thinks that number of attachments to cats should figure into the aspie quotient ?

I owned a male Siamese cat named Stoney (because he was very hard headed). He was everyone's favorite cat. I could call him to me from anywhere in the house and he'd come to me. After he passed away I was never able to bring myself to replace him with another cat.

You provided him with a safe and loving home to enjoy his life in.
Don't you think he would have recommended you to other cats who need exactly that?
there are so many in need.

I don't particularly care for cats. Give me a dog, especially a big slobbery bloodhound or a basset hound any day!

I had the best dog, an Australian shepherd. But he died a few weeks ago. My daughter has a small white dog with a piercing bark I cannot tolerate. It's like having an ice pick thrust into your ear. Fun. I really miss my dog, though.

I wish I had a cat, but I only have a catatar.
If I get an apartment that allows cats, I will get a cat.

Yes I'm sure he would recommend me to another cat. Sadly I think I'd end up comparing it to Stoney and therefor it would never match him.

This thread reminded me of this cute short video on aspergers and cats:

That's a great video.
I don't think that's a good attitude about one cat matching another.
Every cat has something unique and can touch you in their own way.
You would likely be surprised with your next cat, and glad that you gave it a chance.

I've always wanted a cat with two differently-coloured eyes - they are so unique! I only ever see them in calendars, though :D

I used to have a pure white cat with green eyes. She wasn't deaf, but even if she had been, all the more reason to take her in! (she was a stray)

I have 2 cats: a brown tabby neutered male named Grimalkin, and a black & white spayed female named Sweet Baby Girl.

I have fantasized before (accidentally) that a burglar broke into my house and threatened to hurt my cats, and then I kicked their ass in a variety of epic ways. If anyone harms my cats I'll literally rip them apart.

Have a new cat, an former adult stray, Nippy, another lovely Orange boy. This is a strange new world for him with a strange person, and he didn't "speak" for a month, just started to communicate with vocals yesterday, I suspect he has been abused from some of his reactions though he has developed some incipient trust in me.
