I didn't read SBC's books, I did read Attwood's book and JER's book, and I didn't relate to either of those.
Attwood described a presentation of autism in children that was not like me when I was a child.
JER described his unique life circumstances and eggsperiences that were completely different from mine.
In general, I haven't found much to relate to in autobiographies by other autistic people either.
Usually, I am not interested in their lives, so I don't read the whole book or get into it.
Sometimes, as in Temple Grandin's book, I relate to some specific things, but now I can't even remember which.

My opinion about SBC and Attwood writings is that they describe autistic behaviors and autism and autistic people like alien species, when in fact there is plenty of overlap between autistic and neurotypical brains.

My opinion about autistic authors writings is that they describe their behaviors and autistic behaviors and themselves and autistic people as being too unique, also like alien species, when in fact some of the things they describe are quite common in general population too.

So really my opinion of both kinds of writings is same.
