No not really, it's always at the fringe of my mind. Well except the few time I drank alcohol, but that's something I wont do anymore because of my addictive nature I'd end up an alcoholic.

I do not think about every moment of every day but a I am thinking about it very often. In the decades before being diagnosed I thought about being "different" only very occasionally.

^ This.

Before "discovering" Asperger's, I spent a lot of time trying to "figure myself out".

To me there is a difference between thinking about it and being aware of it. Lots of times I don't think about it, but I am usually aware of it. Probably mostly in subconsciously avoiding sensory pitfalls.

Yes, - phases! I am just in a "Nah, I´m just like anyone else" period. At the same time, I´m thinking: "Huh? am I being weird now?". I´m in doubt - sceptical to the last.

Yes, I forget about it when I am focused on doing things.

Oh - That's an excellent point. When I am deep in thought, I don't think about anything else. I wish I could be deep in thought all the time.

Yes - when I'm occupied with work or with my friends. With my friends, I forget that I'm autistic because they accept and support me for who I am. I support them too. When I was in secondary school, I used to shut down almost every day and was bullied by some of my classmates for my disabilities. The only times I shut down now is if the fire bell goes off.

When I'm with my friends, I feel like I'm no longer a prisoner of my own mind and I'm so happy and carefree.

No. It's always there, like the knowledge that I have green eyes, even if I am not thinking about them.

When i'm alone and just doing something that i like i don't think about being autistic at all. But on most of the other activities yes, it's always there even if it's not influencing me at any level.
