Do you ever wonder if people on WP are secretly people...

I might be possible, but I don't really think about it much. A couple of my friends know about Wrong Planet.

Not secretly, but on a couple occasions I've seen posts other places similar to things people posted here that could be people who also post here...but I do not think they are trying to be secretive per say, would not really make sense to constantly tell people what all sites you go to and what all your user names are.

Ha, strangely enough that thought has crossed my mind. I very highly doubt that anyone else I know online or in real life is on here, though.. but I have wondered it.

Oh, yeah!! A couple of times I've thought: "Wouldn't that be funny, if that was 'so-and-so'?" Also, once there was a female on here (I haven't seen her, in quite awhile), that posted something that made me almost have a STROKE----cuz, I looked to see where she lived, and she lived in the state, one of my sisters lives in!! Anyway, I had to go all-through her Post History, until I FINALLY found evidence that she could not POSSIBLY be my sister!!

Also, I belonged to another forum site, for several years, and there was a really insecure guy on there who was always "after me"----meaning, he was always trying to..... Like, it seemed he was always trying to make me angry, or something, so that HE could be the one to divulge my "true stripes", or something. The thing is, I had met people on that site, in PERSON (same as here), so he could've lived to be 150, and never be able to prove me anything than what I was. Every once-in-awhile I worry that he's gonna show-up somewhere, else, that I've posted, and start his crap, again, cuz I think I've got a real unique way of "talking" (writing), and I would be noticed, really easily, maybe.

If you mean purposefully secret- no way. No one follows me around and posts here to stalk me-if thats what you mean.

If you mean am I mutually unwittingly interacting with people I know IRL , or from other sites, on this site- then even THAT doesnt seem to be happening (though I have looked for clues to that).


There is one WPer ( I barely ever cross paths with) whom I have some slender reasons to believe MIGHT be the same person as someone I am slightly aquainted with IRL in my city's local aspie support group. But thats about it.

Used to be involved in another aspie site. None of the higher profile personalities on that site seemed to be on this site. Though I did (without meaning to) persuade someone on this site to join that other site in addition to staying active on this site.

I've met several people IRL that turned out to be members on WP. People I like even. =)

Since I've been on here, two people that I knew slightly IRL in the past have signed up using their real names. One of them had been diagnosed, and one was wondering if he might be on the spectrum. How many more might be here with more circumspect usernames? No way of knowing.

Quite a few of my female friends from my old hometown have children on the spectrum now, and I wonder sometimes if any of them are the autism mommies I see in the parents' forum.

Considering I've gone to school for autistic kids my whole life, I supposed it's quite possible, especially as I get older. They would probably know who I am, I mean how many 14 year old autistic Ezra's are there? There's been at least a couple of WP kids that posted to one of my teen forums.

Both my brothers and one of my university lecturers used to post here.

I've sometimes wondered if some of the Aspies I meet on FB recognize me from WP, but don't want to reveal their identity.
There are some people I know or know of IRL that might be here. I never thought about it much. There was this one boy in HS that looked like Spock, I wonder if he's around?

I often wonder what I'd do if I ever came across someone else IRL who said they were on WP. Would I say I was too? Don't know. Would we exchange usernames? I hope not. I'd rather no one knew mine and I'd rather not know who they were on WP. People "bare their souls" here. It would be very exposing to know someone else knew who you were on WP.

To answer the OP, I do wonder if anyone on WP is someone I know IRL. There are some posts where I have really wondered but as they post more I realize it can't be or probably isn't.
