On Asperger's and Security Clearance

I disclosed mine and got a gov't job that required a secret clearance. I already had my clearance though, just had to renew it.

Anyone with that type of security clearance is sworn to secrecy and would do best not to admit to it.
To much information and peoples' safety would be compromised.
It's safer that way.

No doubt we have a lot of Aspies in those sections, yet to admit to it, they could lose their job, or worse.

I work in government now and I held off getting an official diagnosis for nearly a year till my background check passed. It probably would have been fine but I didn't want to risk it.

Glad to hear it's not always a liability.

I hope to never work for a deceitful pack of common deep-pocketed liars who already want to criminalize half of what I know. Maybe if they would let me smoke weed I'd consider getting a suit and haircut, wait, no, what am I saying? Hackers and our fellow freaks are the primary equalising force that keeps the world from plunging into radioactive despotism. Governments task themselves with halting nuclear proliferation vis a vis Stuxnet and the like, but they still can't cross an airgap with a big fence in the middle. Let's not forget the obvious & absolute fact that those fatcats started the whole mess in square one, unless you want to blame Einstein. As such, the only clearances I could possibly ever want are for the IAEA & U.N. in general. I'll merely steal any others I need.
