How's your sense of smell?

My sense of smell is super-sensitive. Sometimes I think it's more of a curse than anything else. Today I went into the bathroom where the diaper bin is contained and even though it was empty I still ended up loosing my breakfast.
That reminds me- I need to have a 'talk' with my hubby about washing it out when he empties it in the mornings. We usually go right out to the garbage chute to get rid of soiled diapers, but the chute is closed at night.

I can't smell things lot of people can smell. My sense here is below the norm and I am insensative to certain smells like unleaded gas, skunks, permament markers, cleaning spray stuff teachers use to wipe off the boards they write on.

Yeah, I felt bad for my poor pooch! Everyone gamged up on him to bathe him in Tomato juice. 8-( He ended up REALLY stinking of a strong ZINC/TOMATO smell. 8-(

I suppose I have an acute sense of smell (since over a year ago, when I stopped smoking).
However, most smells I don't mind too much.
Perfume - generally I hate.
Petrol is one no one else seems to have mentioned. A bit hard on a driver (like me). When a single drip gets on my shoe, while filling up, I'll be gagging all the way until I can wash the shoe.

Above average. Some smells make me ill. I hate body odor, perfume and cologne smells.

I stink on ice. I need a bath.

My sense of smell is above average especially when it comes to chemicals. I have a very smelly day today

I can smell things other people can't, so the smells they smell can be overpowering.

I've a very keen sense of smell and am hyper sensitive to certain smells as well, up to the point where I almost can't breathe, like for example when they're putting a new road, I really can't stand that smell.

My sense of smell is pretty badly damaged by constant sinus problems and allergies. But there are certain odors which I can smell that just set me off. I'm really sensitive to the smell of popcorn - to the point where I can barely be in the same room as it. A lot of perfumes really set me off as well. I'm also really easily grossed-out and I have a really strong gag reflex, so stereotypical "disgusting" smells will often trigger a coughing fit.

i think my sense of smell average but i hate the smell of cirtrus fruits, bananas, perfume and incense.

Mine is bad. I can still smell but it's below average I believe because people have smelled things I didn't notice and then I smell it later. Even my mom has a better sense of smell than me. And there are smells out there that bother lot of people but don't bother me.

Mine is very acute. It was actually a very big problem for me when I was younger and can still be quite bothersome. It has abated some with age, but when I am in the woods, I can sometimes stalk animals by smell and even smell other people from hundreds of yards away (assuming favorable wind conditions). Smells are one of the reasons that stores and such are so unpleasant for me, and I absolutely cannot be in the house when mushrooms are being cooked.

I have a very acute sense of smell when it comes to analysis. In the kitchen, for example, my nose is a finely tuned, olfactory machine. I can identify constituent components of sauces, or distinguish wine varietals with a fair degree of precision.

But when it comes to environmental factors, my filters often get in the way. I can't count the number of times my partner has come home to exclaim, "what's that smell?" when I have noticed nothing.

Apparently I have a very acute sense of smell. Twice I stopped smouldering fires in buildings by smelling them, when other people around me could not smell them. Both times, those people agreed to come and help me look for the fire saying "you can smell anything, so I believe there is a fire somewhere even though I can't smell it". Three times, just remembered the third, I thought there was a third. I must have a reputation for being able to smell things.
