i have all the symptoms but the ones that stand out the most is:

Inappropriate behaviour
Sensory Sensitivities
routines, rituals
Special Interests
difficulty adjusting to change
high anxiety levels
innability to make and maintain eye contact

but my tone of voice is normal
i developed on time (except my hand eye cordnation and social skills, both severly delayed)

Edit: i dont stim stereotypically (rocking, flapping, humming) however i do pace, rub my hands together and listening to music is how I stim, personally.

I forgot to see ai used to have trouble making eye contact. But oddly I no longer have this anymore.. I think it was related to sometype of social anxiety. But because I no longer worry about impressing people or getting them to like me making eye contact with anyone is totally no problem.

A survey developed by Asperger experts would be helpful e.g., Simon Baron Cohen - Cambridge University, UK does surveys.

Participants would check-off an online inventory of Asperger behaviors that apply, and don't apply. The data would subsequently be processed, and information on similar case studies would be offered.

- Obsessiveness/special interests
- Hatred for loud noises/unexpected touch
- Meltdowns/outbursts
- Strict routines/resistance to change
- Awkward social skills
- Lack of verbal/emotional expression
- Stimming
- Poor eye contact
- Loud voice/hard time hearing voice pitch
- Easily distressed/frustrated
- Extremely severe anxiety
- Picture Memory
- Short term memory loss

What I don't have:

- Sensory overloads
- Lack of imagination
- Lack of empathy
- High IQ (It's said to be below average, but I don't know if I trust it)

That's all I can think of right now. I can't list everything, but I am pretty sure I have autism. I could probably go on forever with this though, so I'll just leave you guys with this. XD

I seem to have got most of the symptoms.

I don't seem to have:

Meltdowns

Echolalia

Fascination with numbers - I'm ambivalent towards them, they can be quite nice but I don't even try to remember the bloody things any more. I don't want to know about string theory.

Poor social imagination / intelligence - true to some extent, but at times I've done social things that would suggest quite a talent in this area, even when I was young. I can't believe it was all down to my making a supreme effort at the time, because that couldn't explain the social intelligence - hard work doesn't help with reading emotions and knowing what to do about them, except in the long term. And when I got it right, it felt easy. :?

I don't know if i have ASD or not, and don't want to get diagnosed. But i relate to a lot of it so this site interests me.

Symptoms I have:

- sensory overload and sensitivity. can be sound (people eating around me, too many people talking at once), to many people or motions around my eyes, lights, and touch. i think it is worse if i eat wheat; it can be pretty bad because i get mad at people for making noises not realizing i'm being oversensitive and then they don't like me. and then i just find somewhere to go by myself. it doesn't happen as much now as it used to. touch was a problem in martial arts when my instructor tickled me after i made a point of telling him not to (more than once)
- anxiety, and panic attacks
- stomach problems since i was little, issues with foods like gluten
- poor social skills
- correct people's jokes before realizing they are joking because i recognize the factual error first (people find this annoying; i do love comedy though)
- i don't like making eye contact, but force myself to do it anyways because i was told it makes you look untrustworthy if you don't
- stimming (flapping, tapping) - the flapping was when i was younger. also nail biting, scratching, picking, pacing, repetitive patterned finger movements
- i have been told i speak in a monotone; i'm not sure i believe this.
- i have been told my face is blank and expressionless; thought that they were trying to hurt my feelings but after more people said the same thing i decided they were sincere.
- lack self awareness (according to my dad)
- strong long-term special interests, (several including indians, birdwatching/ naturalist / science, violin, and languages).
- slight echolalia
- difficulty with verbal directions or listening to lectures.
- high scores on standardized tests as a kid, (but nothing special in college)
- pattern recognition
- sensitive to cold, heat, and touch.

Symptoms I don't have
- pretty good imagination i think
- i recognize faces well
- i have emotions but i usually keep them to myself, which is easy because i have no friends.
- i want friends sometimes
- i think i can be quite expressive at times, less so as time goes by because i get quieter every time i get rejected/called weird.
- i am a romantic (not in a girl/guy way, but i like romantic novels like ivanhoe and les miserables).
- i am very empathetic, but people think i'm not.
- i understand abstract thought quite well
- i am graceful and like to dance
