I bet dancing is fun. I bet karaoke is a real laugh with your friends. Being able to sing must be wonderful. Even things like roller skating look joyful
I'm so uncoordinated though that I could only dance and sing as well as that ASIMO robot.
I shouldn't moan. I do have some abilities so I should stop whining and develop them.
Just sometimes though I wish I wasn't trapped in this great, lumbering, dead-eyed hulk of a body...
Theory of Mind.
You know, that thing where you can look a person in the eyes while they are talking to you, and they are emoting about the topic of conversation, and you could actually grasp without conscious thought exactly how they are feeling, what they think about your response to their words and feelings, and have a clue what kind of response they need to help them feel better, feel like you care about them, and believe you want them to feel better.
The best I usually manage is making a fairly accurate analysis of the words they've spoken; restraining myself from looking away in extreme
do-not-want-eye-contact, and speaking a standard, cliched "I know how you feel" reply. That's best. Worst is my confused expression which somehow looks somewhere between

and

levels of anger and frustration, uncomfortable looking around and shuffling of feet, and awkward attempts to change the subject. Unless they respond in clear and obvious anger, in which case I will likely have an actual meltdown.
So yeah, I would really like to be able to have an NT conversation that flows without all the interruptions, awkwardness and utter lack of theory of mind on my part.
