That would have been nice. Perhaps I'd still be working if that were the case!

Do a lot of you guys have trouble with dancing? I love to dance and I'm really good at it (people have been telling me so for years now) ~ and, I'm super clumsy in real life (outside of dancing) so you never know....

What I'd like to do, maybe: be part of a group of friends.

Make friends, and keep them. Get a job, and keep it.

I would like to tell a joke without having to explain it.

I want to have a group of friends that I laugh and joke around with and feel part of. I want to be able to let annoying things roll right over me instead of freaking out about them. I want to be able to show the world my true self.

Making friends. Having the ability to actually connect to people and keep in contact with them. And well, actually wanting to be around others really.

Besides that, i'd say being able to draw/do artistic stuff better without hurting myself or constantly feeling like i'm doing things for the first time again and again.

I bet dancing is fun. I bet karaoke is a real laugh with your friends. Being able to sing must be wonderful. Even things like roller skating look joyful

I'm so uncoordinated though that I could only dance and sing as well as that ASIMO robot.

I shouldn't moan. I do have some abilities so I should stop whining and develop them.

Just sometimes though I wish I wasn't trapped in this great, lumbering, dead-eyed hulk of a body...

Theory of Mind.

You know, that thing where you can look a person in the eyes while they are talking to you, and they are emoting about the topic of conversation, and you could actually grasp without conscious thought exactly how they are feeling, what they think about your response to their words and feelings, and have a clue what kind of response they need to help them feel better, feel like you care about them, and believe you want them to feel better.

The best I usually manage is making a fairly accurate analysis of the words they've spoken; restraining myself from looking away in extreme do-not-want-eye-contact, and speaking a standard, cliched "I know how you feel" reply. That's best. Worst is my confused expression which somehow looks somewhere between :| and  levels of anger and frustration, uncomfortable looking around and shuffling of feet, and awkward attempts to change the subject. Unless they respond in clear and obvious anger, in which case I will likely have an actual meltdown.

So yeah, I would really like to be able to have an NT conversation that flows without all the interruptions, awkwardness and utter lack of theory of mind on my part.

I wish I could enjoy a live concert without getting sensory overload and physically sick as a result.

Best definition of empathy I ever read. I'm copying it so I can explain myself better to people.

This. It's held me back that my mind just freezes when a topic bores me. Those things just don't get past my "defenses".

Also: I wish I had a good reliable income. Money is security.

It would be nice if I was able to come up with things to say to people I wanna talk to.

If I was given one wish it would be that I was good at team sports. I love team sports. I can endlessly recite statistics of my favourite footballers and cricketers. When I was growing up, all I wanted to play was football and cricket. I thought I had good eye hand coordination, but it all came unstuck around high school. I went from being the first picked in school teams in primary school to the last picked in high school. In fact I found myself relegated out of the school football and cricket teams and having to play in the secondary school sports of basketball and volleyball (which I was no good at either). The problem I had in football was that I could never work out where to position myself on the football field to receive the ball. Consequently I would be invisible for most of the game and of no use for the side. The problem I had in cricket was that all I wanted to do was bat and bowl (while no good at either) and was bored out of my wits when having to field when the other team was batting.
