I have a similar feeling, but I can at certain times feel like I am faster - other times, slower. I have difficulty communicating sometimes because my mind feels like its working faster than my voice, and I have difficulty reading aloud because my brain reads faster than I can translate it into speech.

However, when I am overloaded/overwhelmed, all bets are off. I can lose my ability to communicate altogether.

My sense of time is all over the place. When I'm hyper-focused, no time really seems to pass at all, I'm not sure I'd even understand the concept, sometimes. My autobiographical memory is rather like described by some of the earlier posters - unless it's attached to a particular dated event, I have no idea whether something happened yesterday, last week, a month ago, or even many years ago. Working out what day of the week it is can be impossible without a calendar or my phone to hand, and if I look outside and see that there are no leaves on the trees, I can be confused whether Christmas has even been yet, or whether I'm thinking of one from a few years ago.

I don't really mind it too much, apart from when it gets me into trouble because I promised to do something "tomorrow" or "in a few days", and then get told off weeks later for not doing it, still thinking that I had plenty of time. I try to write down any deadlines I'm given, and set reminders on my PC/phone etc., which sorts out the worst of the problem.

I cannot count the number of times I heard my mother say, "she has no concept of time". 5 minutes? 20? An hour? I had no sense of how much time passed or how long something might take. It didn't help I couldn't read a face clock properly until Highschool. I think I have a little bit of a better grasp on time but I don't pay much attention to it. I check a clock a lot and I do still find more time passes than I feel like it is.

Things that happened a long time ago can feel recent, but I think it has more to do with the impression it left on me. Overall it exists in an odd space...feeling recent but also forever ago.

I've found that I've had to adapt to NT world when it comes to time. Timers have helped me immensely...I don't think I would have been able to finish school without them (and planners).

Yes I have a similar thing and am amazed that other people have it too! Time Buddies.

I struggle with memories, were they a week, a year or 5 years ago. I keep a running list of events and years as a sort of 'cheat sheet' to refer to. I cannot believe I have been with my partner nearly 20 years! feels like 2. I lose track of time during the day if I am doing something interesting. And YET I have an amazing internal clock that can almost always tell the correct time, if I ask it!! What is with that? It's like a section of my brain has a lid on it and it will only show itself if I open the box...

I have something similar with time. Either I'm extraordinarily connected and I can guess what minute it is almost to the second, or I can be way off with timelines. Another of my problems with time is that I seldom know what season it is during spring or autumn because they're both transitional seasons. I mix them up. If I'm indoors or even outdoors in rainy / cool weather, I'll momentarily think it's spring instead of autumn or autumn instead of spring. This is a very fleeting sensation and I correct myself quickly, but unless it's hot summer / cold winter, my body clock forgets.

Time is an illusion to me. It always was. The family has said that about me since forever. I have a terrible time with appointments or TV shows, which is why I no longer have a TV (taping shows takes more organization than I have).

I can pick up on conversations from ten years ago, which doesn't please anybody. But to me they're so very recent.

It's very hard to sort memories chronologically; they sort themselves by commonality.

The thing is, I think I'm right! Time is an illusion, created by projection by humans. It's not really there. But we're stuck with it as regards people, jobs, transportation, etc. We have to manage to live by time or we'll become sleep-deprived.

When I was in Uni I dreamed that I spoke to the poet Longfellow. He told me that time is an illusion, like a giant but transparent trampoline. He said people can bounce in any direction and that the trampoline isn't even there, but it was the best analogy he could give. He also told me things about my future which have come true in perfect detail.

In the dream his facial profile was a dark shadow / silhouette projected on the side of a building. His profile was huge like a drive-in movie screen. I was walking home from class late at night and he appeared. His profile was rather like Abe Lincoln.

Of course I had no idea who he was so he introduced himself as Henry Longfellow.

It was an odd choice for my brain to "invent" in the dream.
To this day I've not studied Longfellow despite having degrees in English literature.

But you have read him?
Or have you reincarnated him?

I never had to read him for school, and after the dream I was too "weirded out" to try. I figure he's already told me what is important, and he likely didn't didn't know those secrets while he was alive. The answers won't be in his poetry.

:)

I'm the same, I either can't remember when things happened properly or i have a extremely detailed memory of an event, including when it was.
