I have noticed that a lot of people constantly assume I'm sexually ignorant, if that's what you mean. If I make a dirty joke, they think I said it on accident because I don't understand what it means. They are shocked if I display sex-related information (beyond the minimum of where babies come from) or seem to understand a dirty joke, and they may figure someone I met recently "corrupted" me.

And people equate sexual ignorance with innocence for some reason. They are often charmed by their mistaken perception of my ignorance, and I feel weird about not keeping up the act. Like they're so happy about finding a unicorn, and they're going to be all disappointed when they find out I'm actually a normal horse.

But I'm pretty emphatically opposed to people finding sexual ignorance to be charming, because it often leads parents to keeping their children dangerously ignorant. The sickos would rather increase their child's risk of being sexually abused than just tell them the basics about sex.

I had a girlfriend once who said intimate relations with me was like having the same with Beaver Cleaver. I don't like to swear even though I was once a sailor. I save it for special occasions.

I had a friend recently who was really surprised that after knowing me for years found out I was actually smarter than him. I guess he hadn't been paying attention for all or those years.

I think it's the naive thing.

It doesn't bother me, though.

Is it bothering you?

It doesn't necessarily bother me.. In fact it can be beneficial... No one will ever suspect me! Haha xD

But it does intrigue me when people instantly assume that ALL autistic people are innocent. It's an interesting assumption to make.

It's not just autism. People have a tendency to think everyone born with a disability, especially a brain based one, is innocent. Many of us are child like and children are inherently innocent.
