Its hard trying to decipher traits that ive lived with all of my life, then seperating them from other disorder/mental ilness. Things have been popping in my head all day, yet when i sit down and try and type i get mind blank.

TheAvenger161173 – If you have time (before your upcoming assessment), I would suggest getting a copy of Tony Attwood’s Book (“The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome”). I believe you can find a version online. For me, the process of reading the book triggered TONS of thoughts/memories. And, helped me organize them in a cohesive fashion. Good luck.

Thank you for all the suggestions. Il get the book. Il read it in snippets. Is it a long book? I get very stressed reading too much. Some more querks. Words get stuck in my head for weeks, months some cases years. Cant paint on a easel have to paint lying down. Good mediator and at giving advice and problem solving for other people, people come to me for advice. Have a hard time asking for service or being served in shops. Someone usually has to do it for me. When i write posts on forums and go back to them at a later date it looks like someone else has wrote them, ive sometimes looked and read them and thought it was someone else. Stutter when talking alot, especially in social scenarios and on phone, not speech impediment but can be bad. Only wear clothes that feel a certain way,80 percent of my clothes are black or have specific logos, the ones that arent black are darker colours or have the logos. so 100 percent have these reatures. On xmas i have to feign delite when getting presents as i feel nothing. On occasions when someone has inuured or hurt themselves infront of me i dont know what to say or do and feel very uncomfortable. Get obsessed with things and have to do them. I get severe anxiety if i dont, cant be disturbed when doing them. If i get disturbed i often loose temper or feel angry. If someone disturbs me or i have an appointment at that time if im expecting them it doesnt make me angry. Have to have alot of help from girlfriend or friends at work. At one point my girlfriend came to work with me so i could keep doing my job. Extreme caffiene sensitivity. Can cause anxiety and panic attacks. Had destructive relationships. Luckily ive me someone who has been very patient and understands and helps me. Thank you for all the suggestions they are really helping me

Attwoods book is a real brick, but the case material is easily read.
The psych, who assessed me, told me to read it and I started very superficially, thinking, "this is about small boys" and, "What´s this got to do with me?". Then I got suspicious and started over, replacing "he" with myself.... Auch!

Just a little sorting in your text:
The underlined looks like traditional, arch-typical traits. Being a good advisor can be a typical strength. The other things kan be caused by anything from comorbids to strong social insecurity.

These are helping me understand. Another would be i got ocd with weights, i got on the back of a motor bike when i was 18 the bike crashed i shattered my toe/foot and severed nerves in my thumb. I spent a week in hospital all i could think about was getting out and doing weights,i was told my thumb would need an operation otherwise it would be unable to bend it permanently, the operation would leave me unable to use my hand completly for 6-8 weeks. I decided not too against drs advice so i could do weights. I was doing weights by myself in a gym with a cast on my foot/leg with a stitched hand/thumb, i now cant bend my thumb correctly. I regret not getting the operstion now. Luckily im left handed if i was right handed i would struggle painting.

It doesn´t have to be OCD. Could be wish and willpower/stubbornness/tenacity.
OCD would mean, that you got uncomfortable/anxious if you didn´t train ritually.

Went to book store. They had the book in,was alot larger than i imagined. Girlfriend said its cheaper on net plus im much more likely to read it on ipad. It will be hard but il persevere. Had a brief look, had a part about paranoia in AS and Schizophrenia and the difference near the back. Seemed interesting and mirrored my paranioa.

Its me again :) Reading the book, its difficult i get very stressed reading,im persevering, much mirrors my life experience. From being very young to now. Its like im discovering who i really am. Its like an epiphany. A question from something that i experience and have all of my life, when people talk to me much of the time i take in next to nothing that they say? Someone could give me directions and it would be as if they had spoke in a different language as it took nothing in. Also if someone asks me a question alot of the time i have to guess what they mean and reply with what ive guessed. Sometimes its ok others again its like there speaking in a different language as nothing sinks in and i usually dont understand what they mean.

^ This.

TheAvenger161173, the book was an epiphany for me as well. So much so that I read it 3 times. If I can make a suggestion, you might want to consider using a highlighter while reading (and highlight those things that resonate with you). After I read it the 2nd time, I asked my wife to read it as well and highlight those areas (using a different color) that she thought "fit". It was quite interesting seeing so many pages highlighted in different colors. More so, it was interesting seeing the things she picked up on that I totally missed.

Yeah. Hold your finger down on the text, and after a second or two, it'll select a word and bring up a menu. You can drag the thingies on the ends of the selection to select more text. Then pick "color" from the menu and pick your color.

Got it eventually. Id read alot of the book by then. Ive highlited what i could then once ive finished i. Going back to the beggining to read again and highlight what i missed. Some of the parallels are exceptionally accurate. Where was even some on superheros,i was a bit taken back as i assumed that having a fascination with superheros, comics, superhero art, superhero fantasys would have been something that would have been classed as imagination? I assumed aspies had poor imagination from a diagnostic perspective. As a child i was obsessed with superheros, art and still am. Ive thought hard and long and i think this was my outlet when i had no friends and was bullied.
