Quote:
I talk to myself constantly as well. And by constantly I mean all day and night. I often “think out loud” about things I am working or obsessing on, or practice monologues, or pathetic speeches I could make to an old girlfriend, “what a better guy I am now” kind of garbage.
Ah, the shoulda-saids. I do those very often. While talking to myself I have my best comebacks.
Question: Has anyone ever done this or sort of "practiced" a conversation with someone you know (who's not there of course)-- maybe even something drastically important, and by the time you finished your preparation speech you feel much better? And the next time you see them, you forget that they actually never
heard that little speech and you wonder why they still act the way they do. (Sometimes, it almost feels as though if I address my speech to someone-- even if they weren't ever there-- they should have
still heard it. I know this is not logical. Almost like, "If
I think it
you should think it,too." Guess it's a bit of that Theory of Mind problem again.) sigh.
