The really ODD thing here is that men can get an erection with just a brief almost invisible glance of the female form. That doesn't even mean that they would ever want to do anything with that person. aside from the fact that i've had some trust issues with some the BFs ive had (and thus ALL subsequent BFs afterward) outside of this context...

i do generally think this is a touchy area of the male psyche for most women (myself included) to think about.

i consider myself lucky, in that, i have found EMPIRICALLY that this trait is UNIVERSAL to all non-asexual men... and am thus better prepared to premptively divert myself from having one of those situations the OP is describing.

how do i know this? just having guy friends. it's that easy. once you have gotten the herd's trust... they will welcome you into their world and you will start to see how this is just an extension of their mentality... nothing special about it. They even start to inquire about YOUR opinion about the hotties you could be scoping when you're with them...

and you know what? you realize that you totally have the answer to their question too... cause girls do the same thing. The only difference is that girls do it differently and this is the crux of the situation because...

The only reason guys (instead of girls) have to take so much crap on this VERY topic is because the pattern of sexual selection in men is much more predictable than it is in women.

To translate: It's easier for your gf to pick out girls she thinks you're probably checking out (attracted to) than it is for you to guess what kind of guy she'd probably be checking out.

This has to do with the general trend of men to be attracted to physical features and women generally be attracted to non-physical features. This generalized concept leads to her being able to have a constant "accurate" measurement of whom you're probably checking out at any given time when you two are together... cause all she has to do is discover your preferences and then look around her when she's with you. If women were so visually driven... you'd hear a lot more guys with the same conplaint.
