When I began to talk, I used "you" instead of "I".

Also, I used "they and I" instead of "we" :?, and I continue doing it.

I have to ask my mom more about my response to my name in my early childhood.

THe problem with this test is that while normal children will respond to their names MOST of the time, ASD children usually answer to their names at least sometimes. And most doctors and parents don't know enough to judge how often a child has to respond to know whether it's normal or something to be worried about. My youngest never responds to his name if he's engrossed in something, and I tried to bring it up w/ his pediatrician. THe ped called his name, my son immediately looked at him and the doctor declared him "fine." Well, that's ok b/c I had him evaluated by the early intervention program, by professionals (pediatricians are professionals only in childhood illnesses, they do NOT know much about development or even nutrition in most cases.) THey found delays in most areas w/ my son. THe pediatrician tried to downplay my concerns.
