Dogs and Aspergers

I love spending time with dogs. Not just mine but I'm also a humane society volunteer. One of our dogs there, a very quiet and gentle brindle pit bull, went to a family with a severely autistic neighbor boy. The kid would only open up to animals and one of the reasons they wanted that particular dog is because they thought he could also be a good companion to thier neighbor kid.
Yeah, pit bulls are great companions. My two dogs are a purebred brindle and a half Rednose, half Great Dane. They are very sensitive to my moods and are very loving and loyal.

But now you need to tell us YOUR pup's breed and are you in an apartment over there in the NY area?
Our first dog was an Akita/Chow mix it we got it from the ASPCA uptown on the east side. He was a wonderful companion. We lived in a small railroad apartment in manhattan.
Later we had a wonderful Australian Shpeherd mix from the pound in Newark. Our current dog is a yappy little nightmare that my daughter wanted, some kind of Maltese/Bichon mix. He has a piercing bark that acts like a reset button for my brain.
He initially seemed like some slithering, eldritch, tentacled monstrosity that wormed it's loathsome, squamous and rugose being into our lives in the appearance of a little white ball of fluff, no doubt the result of necromantic rituals performed by jabbering half-mad cultists in the baleful light of a blasphemous, gibbous moon. His brutally piercing bark was almost enough to return me to my childhood views on dogs...
But over time, it has become apparent that he looks far too much like an animated muppet not to feel affection for him. And he is also a great companion. Our last two dogs have share a house with us in New Jersey and have a yard to play in and enjoy walks on quiet, leafy streets and in the nearby woods and parklands.
