I find this place to be eminently hopeful.

Autism can really be a good thing......in all honesty.

What despair and hopelessness? I thought this was a positive thread.

Autism is good because it gives me the wisdom to think outside the box, instead of putting things into little boxes that are known as categories.

Cats are good.

Any evidence you have for this assertion?

If you told a Down Syndrome person that Down Syndrome is good, that would be oppressive. Autistic people are not a single group that enjoys neurodiversity.

That just increases the likelihood, that doesn't mean that every form of genetic diversity is positive. Obviously, there are genetic configurations that are clearly harmful/damaging.

There is NOTHING good about neurodiversity, especially when everyone and their brother sh!ts all over you. I'm to the point now, someone should round up the neurodiverse beings here on this planet and execute all of us. I'm tired of people treating me like nothing more than d!ckcheese.

You still haven't proven autism is specifically beneficial.

Autism per se is neither good nor bad. It just is what it is. People are good or bad. We are affected in negative ways by our Autism mostly because of how others act towards us and respond to us. Some Autistic traits, like sensory sensitivities, can be very challenging but challenging and bad mean two different things. Some Autistic traits can be amazing and wonderful. But oftentimes what we feel about our Autism is based, not on the Autism itself, but rather on how we feel about how other people treat us because they don't understand our Autism or because they are mean or insensitive people.

I love Tony Attwood's quote, "Aspies don't suffer from Asperger's, they suffer from other people."

I quoted it as he said it, but I, personally, would include all Spectrumites in that quote.

Why do I need to give you evidence? I think that what I said is evidence enough. What evidence? Why are you asking me for evidence about something that I know from my own experience? I also feel that every life is worth living and I also don't feel the need to provide evidence for that opinion either.

I'd also like to say that life is what we make it for ourselves and that's evidence enough.

I'm sure your life experience is a valid anecdote, but how can you read the minds of every other autistic? Obviously, some autistics are better at categorization than creativity.

And by your logic, Down Syndrome doesn't need to be treated whatsoever.
