Did not think of that. TV and movies, I can take fiction. But even TV is mostly fact based.

This post made me stop and take a look around at my own library. That was interesting. There are a few dozen comic books that haven't been read in several months. Seeing as I've written a novelette and screenplay at different parts of my life, you'd think I'd make consuming written fiction more of a priority. Kind of strange now that I think about it.

I used to read comics voraciously when I was younger. Didn't stop until I read an X-Men book one day. I read a page 3 different ways and it did not make a difference in the story. It was that badly laid out. That was it for me.

BUT!! I do love comics and cartoons. I think I liked comics because they were short, visually entrancing (in different ways depending on the artist) and simplistic stories that could have good meanings and messages.

I find the responses interesting as with many of the aspie tests this seems to be one of the dominating questions, i put this forward to the psychologist and her response was basically, "" It has been used for a long time and that generally those on the spectrum do not like fiction"", I just looked at her in a bemused way and mentioned, just because something has been used for a long period of time, it doesn't necessarily mean it is correct and that my experience with individuals on the spectrum indicate that many do enjoy fiction.... Didn't get much of a response from that! Seems like we have a fair way to go in trying to establish the truths and myths about the spectrum with the biggest obstacle being belligerence towards some of the age old myths of those on the spectrum and having to change the tunnel vision surrounding certain myths that are indicated in literature as fact!... This poll in itself blows that one myth out of the water!
