1. Are you a light sleeper, and do you find it difficult to fall back asleep because your brain is in overdrive about anything you might have an interest in recently?

Yes, although mostly I find it difficult to get to sleep in the first place, and don't wake up much during the night.

2. Do you stay up, sometimes overnight because you have found something you want to know everything about and your brain continues to ask questions, make calculations and hunger for more information regarding anything you find interesting?

Yes! But sleep has been such a huge problem my whole life that I've put a huge amount of effort into trying to get better at it, so I do this less now.

3. Can you essentially learn everything about a topic, or at least seem like a subject matter expert within the course of a night and recall the information accurately?

Yup. My memory's always been very good and if I'm interested in the subject I'll just absorb information.

4. Is this what they refer to when they say an aspies perception of time is off? I know I can tell time. However, I become so integrated into my thought processes that time passes by exceptionally quickly when I am learning about something interesting, or working on some mental process.

I guess it could be - this is the same for me as well. Although it could also be a bit to do with executive function - I find time-keeping very hard and often can't remember that if I need to leave at, for example, 9am, I actually have to be ready by 9am, rather than start getting ready at 9am.

5. And, lastly, if you do not find a topic interesting, do you also become mentally tired after studying for small-medium periods of time?

Oh my goodness yes! I can barely concentrate on anything I don't find interesting, and will often get very, very sleepy if I try to.

1. Sometimes I can't fall asleep because my mind is so busy. Sometimes I wake up early and can't get back to sleep because I'm so obsessed with something (usually someone).

2. I don't stay up late. But like I said in my answer to 1, sometimes I lie in bed for a long time, thinking about a topic, imagining things or making calculations.

3. Not usually. But there was one time recently when I was really into a subject and read all I could about it over the course of a couple days.

4. I think so. But I don't really experience this; if anything I check the time too often.

5. Yes. I have trouble concentrating on something when it's not interesting to me.
