Made myself loudly throw up in the bathroom to appear genuinely sick. Pretend I didn't know anyone was showing up, then take a shower before they see me and stay in there until they leave, basically hoggin the bathroom. Tell them "I have to return some video-tapes," then go elsewhere.

I hired on as chef one summer, but I made sure to choose a position in a student bar. It was the holidays, so there were no customers. For six weeks, I had a pretty idyllic time...I had a little "nest" built up in the backroom where I could while away the hours reading, cleaning, etc. It was nice.

Then term time kicked in, there were 30 customers at a time and I went into overload. In the end I destroyed their communication system to stop the orders flooding in.

One of the strongest childhood memories I have is of my father jumping out the window and hiding out in the back yard when people came to visit.

In middle school I actually hid underneath a desk on several occasions to avoid getting called on.

Don't feel embarrassed! I locked myself in the bathroom but it's right next to the kitchen so I went out the window. Bathroom windows seem to hurt more than other windows.
