I don't like it where I live now cuz it's really cold(usually) but it doesn't make me depressed or anything.

I feel the January blahs for the first two weeks. I hate saying goodbye to December and Christmas. I'm also careful to live my life one day at a time, so I'm not wishing my life away.

I dread the new year.
it is what I fear.
it's been one day here.
it sucks without peer.

I can't wait 'til next December.
just the good parts I remember.
were there a month to dismember,
choose January not December.

the coming gray damp cold january
is to me but depressing and scary

up a steep slippery hill against the grain
why can't it just be december forever
and for once and all, january never?

^ my birthday is in January. : )

I am in the minority. I don't dislike the new year. To me, it is a time for reflection. To reflect on my accomplishments and the things I'd like to improve on. I can't say I've ever felt it to be a time of celebration, but, I do feel it to be a positive occassion. Like a new beginning or fresh start of sorts.

I dare not wish you a happy new year. ; ) x

I have always thought the new year/January is the most depressing time, because for me it is akin to being at the top of a mountain then suddenly being dumped right back down at the bottom and having to roll a giant boulder grindingly slowly, all the way up the mountain again. anybody else here feel something like that?
p.s. - no offense meant to people born in January :)

No, it's a wonderful time for me. Because I don't have to worry about hearing that f*****g god awful Christmas music anymore.

But I choses the ice-cream, because I'm hungry for a Snickers Ice Cream Bar.

No more depressed than I am during other times of the year.

But Christmas day is always a big challenge for me. It's one of the few times in the year that I am expected to be around lots of family members. I always curse the fact that everyone around me can socialise with such ease and comfort. Verbal reciprocation and spontaneity are still unbelievably difficult for me. It's only when I am drunk or high on weed that I can socialise to a reasonable standard, which is quite a sad reality for me to face.

The heavily bloodshot eyes are usually a giveaway. These could be concealed by wearing sunglasses, but I am sure that by opting for such a piece of conspicuous attire I would arose suspicions.
