I'm not, but I have no problem with them. I hate the stereotypes they receive, like all they do is have sex with each other. I used to watch the TV show 1000 Ways to Die until there was an episode where they talked about furries as sex maniacs. That turned me off of the show. Another forum I used has bashed furries in the past, and I was quite angry at them for it. It's so sad how the media only focuses on a very small subset of the people.

Finally Someone who ISN'T a furry and yet defends them as if he/she were one! I sincerely congratulate you for your humanity! :thumright: (no kidding!)

Nah, he's not the ONLY one that thinks that way.

I tend to think that way too. I've met people that are furries before, and.... there's nothing wrong with them. Dont get me wrong, there's the occaisional wacko there, but that's the case in every single community, yes? Well, it's the case in every community I've ever dealt with. And sadly, the crazy ones tend to give the rest of them a bad name.

But in reality, most people are just fine, and usually pretty much normal. Just like most people in "geek" communities. Though frankly I prefer that people not be TOO normal. "Normal" is boring. At least to me. I personally would rather stick with my insect-girl and whatever other seemingly-odd things I do rather than try to fit the norm. What fun would that be?

I know of a few on the spectrum who say they are Furries. Then again I'm sure there are plenty who are not. I am not in any way and do not relate to it at all. Furry suits are both cool and cute looking to me, but I think being in one for me personally would stifling.

I have friends that are, and even hang out at the Furry convention in Pgh, but nope I'm definitely not one. My fantasies are rooted in practicality, not imaginary environments or beings.

Wouldn't know if I knew a furry or not. But I see nothing wrong with two consensual adults having a good time.

What kinds of 'practical' fantasies do you have?

I've been dressing as a cat since before I ever heard of furrys. I regularly wear cat ears and I've always related more to cats. Some people think it's weird but I don't care.

I'd definitely say I'm a fan. I've enjoyed plenty of works featuring anthropomorphized animal characters (including VGCats, the source of my avatar :3), and I've also written some stories and character bios featuring my OCs. I'd like to get into drawing furry artwork as well, but it'll take a TON of practice before my skills are good enough to make anything I'd consider decent.

Also, a controversial opinion I have is that the "brony" fandom is in fact a subset of the furry fandom, albeit one that's probably grown to be bigger than the rest of the furry fandom combined. I used to be pretty big on the "brony" thing myself, but nowadays I more or less just have an appreciation for the fanworks and the characters. I think Fluttershy is quite possibly one of the cutest characters ever created, you just can't help but love her. :D

I hate the negative stigma of "furries". I've been into anthropomorphic animal cartoon characters for as long as I can remember- Disney, Loony Tunes- and I've always preferred animal characters over human ones because humans are BORING. Drawing animal characters has been my entire life, and now suddenly if you like and draw animals that act like humans people call you horrible names and think you have bestial sex AND I HATE IT, it doesn't even matter than I don't put them in adult situations people call you a fur f*g.

The whole world has gone to hell! All the innocence and fun and wholesomeness from when I was a kid has been forever tainted with the vulgar, repulsive STD-encrusted bodily fluids of adults and I can't enjoy anything anymore! Everything I like is now wrong and people want me dead because of it. I hate it so much I just want to die!!

Yes! I love furry movies/artwork  I agree with lostonearth35 as to how ridiculous it is that everyone associates them with sex. Imagine if we did that with everyone's interests.

"I like Game of Thrones."
"What's your favorite sex scene?"
"What?!"
"Well, don't all GoT fans love all the kinky sex?"

You'all look like you are having a lot of fun. I kinda wish I was into the furry thing. But the heart wants what the heart wants, and what my heart wants is mostly Jedi.

No.

Star Trek:
Q
Vulcan
Borg

Star Wars:
Rebel Spy
Jedi

Would a Star Wars Wookiee qualify as a furry? "Big walking carpet," like Princess Leia would say, etc.? :)

Wookiees aren't furries because they are not antropomorfized animals. What they are is ARRRRRRRSOME!

Not a furry but the ones I have met seem nice. One even comes by and plays games with me every week.

Not a fan of anything. Including any sort of cartoons and animes.

Never even had any obsession with any animals or characters. Never cosplayed any known character or creatures unless it's some nameless generic job or obvious description.

Furries never caught my interest, whether in a positive or negative light. I don't know why... :|

Nope and Nope, and this is coming from a non-rabid, right wing fan of MLP. I find this fandom somewhat eminently dodgy.

I am not a "furry", but I do enjoy writing about anthropomorphic animals.
