Wow Auntblabby, that rock house is phenomenal! I'd love to live in a place like that!

the acoustics would take a while to get used to. ever hear the phrase, "it sounded like he recorded that in a cave!"?

No, that's a new term for me, I assume it means there's a lot of echo? I'd probably try to get around that by adding padding like rugs to the walls. It would take some getting used to though! If I had a sensory room in a rock house like that, I'd cover all the walls with those styrofoam wall crash pad things to insulate against unwanted sound. Not to mention, jumping on a floor crash pad too close to unprotected rock walls is an injury waiting to happen!

Every time I see your username I hear that song by the Firm. Every single time. It's in my head right now. This has absolutely nothing to do with this thread, I know.

playing music in that cave would be reverberant. lining the walls with blown-on Styrofoam would help in tamping it down. but then again it would also take away from the cave ambience in terms of its rocky flintstones-like vibe.

Haha, yeah, I'm one of those people that always has music in their head. One word or phrase just pops a song into my head. Then it won't go away. And it's often something catchy yet annoying.

I used to love Star Trek reruns and TNG as a kid. The other ones I watched sporadically.

Okay I'm done interrupting the thread, sorry

I saw that on Grand Designs or something similar a while back. Didn't watch the video so don't know whether it mentions it but people used to live there like 40 odd years ago and they were actual houses and stuff which is pretty cool.

I assume it would be normal council tax, if anything, not sure how much it would be as I don't think he has mains water or anything. I'm not really sure how council tax works. And I don't think it'll be too much as I think it's done off what the house would be worth in 1990 or the mid 90s or something.

I asked my boss for a tranquility pod for work - they look like this and cost about $30K.

He offered to buy me this beanbag napping sock you can pull over your head that has an air hole for your nose - costs about $90.

I declined the offer.

Lol Egghead, that's funny! I'd probably decline the offer too! That pod looked really nice though, I'd love one of those!
