Is is ok that some aspies are not proud of themselves?

I can't say I'll be proud to be autistic if I find out I am. However, I hate not knowing why I'm different. Merely knowing I might be autistic feels like a relief, as though things make more sense.

I certainly don't see autism as something to be ashamed of.

My Autism is not something I did, I was born this way. So no reason to be proud. That is the exact reason I am not ashamed of it either.

Some of things I accomplished despite the impairments and descrimination I am proud of.

It's "Lookie what I did, in spite of these impairments!"

It's NOT "Lookie what I was born with! Ain't I special?"
