Until 2014, I lived in a big city and had a pretty demanding job which involved dealing with people full-time, so I had constant meltdowns, 2 or 3 times a week.

Nowadays I live in my hometown, a much smaller and quieter place, and I have to deal with less people, so it has become more sparse. I'm not sure how frequently, though. It basically only happens now if I have to deal with social events outside my professional routine or if there's too much light around - brightness is still a big problem for me, and my town is way too bright.

I had them aLOT as a kid & teen but I was stressed out from school & my parents were very critical of my Aspie quirks & my other disabilities. I seldom have meltdowns sense I moved in with my girlfriend 3 years ago(she's also on the spectrum), treating my anxiety & OCD by meds helps some & so does being on a low dose of the antipsychotic Haldol/Haloperidol.

What qualifies as a meltdown? Grownups are not really allowed to have the kinds of meltdowns that children with no financial responsibilities can get away with, unless one has a caretaker or is independently wealthy. I have private mini-meltdowns (crying when by myself, unable to get anything done for the whole day, etc) probably about once a month. Would be less if I did not have to interact with certain individuals as much as I do, as it's always the same triggers. When I lived alone it was less often.

I think examine your surroundings and current circumstances and that might give an insight into why you are more upset than usual. Might not be you ;)

Couple of times a week.

It's not clockwork but on average I think every 2 months is about right. It's very close to my haircut cycle, this is a coincidence though. I do however get stressed when going to have a haircut as I don't feel comfortable with sharp objects being near my head. Also I hate it when they try to talk to you. Also I have to overhear other conversations I have no interest in. I wish there were barbers that offered a no speaking policy. I have developed a system of only saying yes or no to their questions, there are some exceptions when they ask specific questions regarding the haircut itself, outside of this though I have absolutely no interest in having a conversation whilst having a haircut.

My meltdowns are painful as i imagine they are for everyone, and i have alot of triggers, which I'm still learning about, its mostly just trying to live a adult life, the stresses and strains etc etc..
As for their regularity I would say that about once every couple of months, I guess it depends on how tired and worn down I am.
I can cope with most things when I'm relaxed and fresh but as I get tired my ability to distract myself away from it with the warning signs inevitably becomes decreased, and I become more prone to meltdown.

On a personal note meltdowns and shutdowns really suck poo!! !
