Stress-induced seizures

Nonepileptic seizures actually have nothing to do with epilepsy at all. They're episodes brought on by stress and emotional issues. It ends up being treated as a psychological issue and not a medical one, which is why once a neurologist diagnoses it, they hand you off to a psychologist. There can be medical reasons for seizures that aren't due to epilepsy, but that's different.
And some people can have both, and 30% of ppl with autism spectrum disorders have epilepsy, so be sure they're nonepileptic (that is, have an EEG *on* when you have one) before accepting the diagnosis of nonepileptic seizures as factual.
