are we different?
Yea. My wife sometimes looks at me in awe and says "I never met anyone like you and thinks like you". It kind of gives you a confidence boost, because I was always criticised for things I do and say, which apparently are not socially acceptable in certain contexts (though I never seem to understand why they aren't acceptable).
As a person everything is different about me, and people seem to complain WHY I have to be different all the time. It is not my goal to be different all the time though. I even started keeping updated about fashion just to blend in with the crowd a little, but even my fashion statement can be quite creative at times. I guess I don't see all the barriers everyone seems to see, and THAT is what makes me stick out from the crowd.
I am known to be a creative rebellious brute and an irritating activist, others appreciate my quirkiness, naivety and wittiness. Without a doubt I am different. I used to hate it, and tried so hard to be "normal", like everyone else (which nearly killed me through anxiety and depression), and now I embrace my differences.

Of course I'm different. Everybody's different. How boring it would be if everyone was like everyone else. Unless by different you mean "not normal", because then I know at least three or four people who are a lot more "different" than me.
I probably don't look all that different when I'm just out walking around, minding my own business. Except I'm nearly always by myself. But then I might go into a store and suddenly have an aspie moment, like gasp in delight when I see a collectable I've wanted for ages, or get depressed and frustrated by all the crowds and noise.
Or getting annoyed when people mention the weather or always ask the same question when they're someone I haven't seen in a while: "Are ya still drawin'?"
Because the day I actually stop drawing is the day I'll give someone permission to shoot me in the head. ![]()
