You probably watched the Gillette Cavalcade of Sports or whatever that was called.

The 50's were a cool time to watch sports, it seems to me. I know the 60's were.

I used to enjoy Phil Rizzuto doing the Yankee broadcasts.

I'm too young to remember Red Barber and Mel Allen--but, for some reason, I remember the "Ballentine Blast."

I used to watch it on TV with my cousins growing up in the 1980s. We followed all of the major wrestling federations and some of the smaller ones that we could pick up on satellite. One of my favorite ones was the Texas federation, as that is where Cactus Jack (ie. Mick Foley) got his start before he became a big name. He often got into fights with Eric Embry and Tom Prichard during those days. Barbed wire and weapon matches were common at the time. Back then, the violence was so graphic that many times the matches had to be blurred for TV broadcast due to large bleeding cuts on both participants. That happened almost every week back then.

Most of the wrestlers that I watched as a kid have since died. It is just not the same now.

I should have mentioned I liked Foley before mankind, but I just really liked the mankind persona.

I was lucky enough to meet Foley in person, which I will always remember.

I loved Eddie Guerrero when I was a kid. I was devastated when he passed away. Mick Foley is awesome too. I would love to see Kevin Owens and Cesaro each hold the WWE title.
