No doubt.

But I would care about what you believe. I just might not agree with it, that's all.

Sometimes it brings out strengths in a person did not know they had. Sometimes it just damages.

What doesn't kill you gives you a bad case of PTSD.

Homer Simpson once asked this question after surviving a heart attack, and Dr. Hibbert told if him anything he was weak as a kitten. And that Homer swung like a girl.

I guess it depends on the situation because if I'm in a stressful situation I can sometimes learn to deal with better later on. When it comes to getting bullied though it just causes me to become more distant and less trusting of people. I don't understand why some people think that bullying makes people stronger.

Bullying didn't make me stronger.

What made me stronger was the realization of the motives of the bully.

It might make you mentally stronger, but if a truck hits you and you just manage to survive there are going to be some fairly significant ways in which you are not stronger. The phrase is suppose to be encouraging but I think you have to be in a he mood to hear it.

But if a truck DOESN'T hit you, and you just missed it, you'll become stronger because you'll be more aware, in the future, of future trucks.

The "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" concept can only apply to a point. As human beings, autistic or not, we need some stress in life to grow. Think about that occasional germ exposure to boost the immune system or the occasional heavy lifting to strengthen the bone. That hard experience that made you think.

It is when we are introduced to constant stress, we begin to break. You shouldn't blame your hardship on your autism though, you are just a fragile person.

We should seek to use our strength to alleviate the constant stress, I believe.

We shouldn't give in to it totally.

My two words regarding things that hurt you deep and bloody enough to leave a mental scar are 'eventually' and 'persistence'... I am ten times what I used to be from each challenging and dark period, they shaped me into the path that has led me where I am wandering today, it took a long time and certain things will always hurt and get me down but I've done my work and digging enough to accept the strength and contours, that is what I will always seek to do with anything that hurts me in my life, it is a good lesson to have drilled into myself, time and persistence are the two pillars I consult, but a third one is 'discipline' which kinda flickers in each of them.

I guess it does give you more insight on the tactics that they try to use to manipulate you.
