I definitely want to do that one day, have my own therapy business would be ideal However, my plan is to do a bit of tutoring and play work, then when i have enough experience in those fields is to work as a teaching assistant/learning support assistant for disabled children.
Eventually, I would like to then get my masters (if I can afford it) in creative writing therapy.
However, I just do not have the experience or confidence to start up my own business at the moment. Hmm yes you are right, my dad did say they just want me on the books. I live in London by the way.
The sourcing company are doing nothing for you that you can't do yourself. It sounds like they are asset holding i.e. the more people they have on their books, the bigger they can describe their business as being. Many businesses work this way.
You'll probably need the likes of £20 to get some posters etc - after that, it's simply time investment.
This is a good plan. Also while unemployed find someplace to do volunteer work to get experience flow especially if you have to go PT in service industry.
With enough experience you should be bale to get on a services list.
My sons music therapist was paid for by his disability benefits. As long as she had the credentials and frontage, she was able to be approved by health services for him. The small company she worked for dissed her when the manager owner couple divorced but she was able to keep the clientele as main company assets went out of state.
That job sounds exploitive

Well, I do have this summer job coming up as a playworker which is near my house. And if it goes well hopefully some after school work and/weekend work from them too. I will try to do some volunteering as well. I have a job interview as well so I hope that goes well for me!
They do seem exploitive

Living in the UK, you're possibly in touch with them already.
I'm sure they'd be happy to help, in terms of gaining experience. They have a number of schools exclusively for autistic individuals, and could possibly get you some experience in one of their schools.
PS at the schools, the autism you'll encounter is not the autism you'll encounter on this forum - it is 'classic' autism. If you haven't encountered this before, it may scare you. But don't be put off - I'm simply letting you know in advance that it will likely come as a surprise if your mental image of autism is the likes of the frequent YouTube videos found on the subject.
But if you want to work with disabled individuals, it would be a great boost to your CV.
PS don't think of 'setting up a business' as a grand & complex thing: it is simply a case of opening a bank account and paying money into it whenever you get paid (and paying any tax on time! But your business will likely be small and you won't have to pay tax. But do send in your tax return on time, or you're in trouble).
A 'business' doesn't have to be having staff & premises. I think you should consider it. Speak to your parents about it, and also go see the Citizens Advice Bureau - they'll give you good advice RE money you may be entitled to etc (i.e. working tax credits).
What you would encounter is what people called "autism" before the 1980s. Severe, classic autism.
I had a friend whose brother was severely, classically autistic.
Many times, these kids are very gentle and shy--but others can be really bombastic and violent. Most of these kids probably don't have verbal speech; but many of them can communicate through various types of devices and things like PECS.
Some of them really want to make friends; others really do not seem to want to bother.

...
I'll say it again; I think you are being conned by your bosses. Only another Brit will be able to guide you in what to do about it. Good luck to you!
