I suspect the objects de bash in those rooms are sourced from junkyards and garbage pits.

I wouldn't pay to use a room, however I'd love to work there.

but what fun is it if you can't hear one hundred percent of all the smashing and bashing and crashing you are doing, instead covering up all that glorious noise with music?

I was thinking getting the right soundtrack to go with what you are doing. Like a good rock and roll mix to help keep you pumped up in the destruction, kinda like how you have certain songs to go with certain scenes in a movie. ^^; I'm very much about music and having the right song to fit my mood or what I'm doing. I have several different playlists for different activities, such as: working out, driving, cleaning, etc.

the 1812 overture (with cannons and carillon) would be some good ultraviolence music. or Beethoven, his "wellington's victory" would also work. or prokofiev's "battle on the ice" from "alexander nevsky" would work as well.

I'm now imagining the scene from V For Vendetta where they used the 1812 overture to do some ultra violent scene/ destroy a building as show in the gif below

It would be really cool if they were filled with recyclable stuff that might be destroyed/broken down anyways before getting a new life -- stuff like cardboard and phone books to tear up and glass bottles and recyclable plastic things to smash into pieces.

LOL, rage rooms, the stuff people come up with. Aside from the humor and the taking out rage on inanimate objects, I think maybe people like it cause it's taboo. I don't want to use them myself though. AuntBlabby, sorry to hear that you often had only inanimate objects as friends, sounds very depressing after a while.

I think they're an awesome idea, but I don't like the idea of smashing up perfectly working electronics. xD

Yeah BigMouth, the recyclables mentioned earlier in the thread would be less destructive, probably not as fun for many of the people who use these rooms. Perhaps broken electronics at least. :)

AuntBlabby, I tend to say or express how I feel right then and there, the more angry I get. If my fear of consequences is greater than my anger, or if I have a moment of clear thought, I hold off or I calm down a bit. Otherwise, the world knows I'm mad, which is often not a good thing. As the initial burst of anger passes, then I start to make more rational choices about what to say and how to say it. Also, exercise helps get out angry energy.

I prefer something more productive like chopping old wooden products into firewood or doing the small demolition projects when remodeling.
