These days, I usually use my I-Phone, and I listen to music on YouTube.

The music tends to be from the 1960s and 1970s.

if I was at your place i'd consider it a privilege to set up a by-god loudspeaker system that would make you just wanna sit with mouth agape at the sonic loveliness. :dj:

LOL...I'm weird, in that I can't really tell the difference between mono and stereo. To me, the differences are so subtle that they don't matter.

Nor can I, without really looking, tell the difference between an analog TV picture and a HDTV TV picture.

hearing something in stereo is a close match to hearing it live. when you listen to a live music concert you'll generally notice that most of the crowd sounds are around you, there is a stereophonic panorama of musicians up front, with some on the left, some in the middle, some right. sitting in front of a properly set-up stereo system will reproduce most of this. and if you watch a HDTV set displaying a video playback of this live music concert you will see a lot more tiny details [the keywork of the instruments, beads of sweat on the musicians' close-ups, et al] than you would if you were watching it on your dad's 20" sony Trinitron analog set.

Trinitron was State of the Art in the 1980s. I couldn't afford one of those sets.

the last analog set we had was a 1999 32" Trinitron that we got at the BX on sale [75% off] because sony had just introduced the WEGA sets which were a substantial upgrade.

I thought 1980s TVs were a big improvement over 1970s TV's.

No longer did we get "snow," have to use "rabbits ears," etc.

No longer did I have to get up to change the channels.

Probably had something to with Cable.

cable made even mediocre tv sets look relatively good. I miss cable. when my health insurance zoomed skywards I had to drop cable ages ago.

Our 1976 Sony Trinitron worked fine in 2014.

My biggest issue is self discipline. I know I should exercise more, wear my cpap, eat healthy, brush teeth everyday..and many other things but I do not do them because I have a very hard time making myself do anything.

I plan on getting my thyroid checked soon. Many family members have hypothyroid. My body feels so tired all the time, my legs feel like jello :/

Yepyepyep.
My mother made me get my thyroid checked too - though more because of my weight - though my weight is affected by my self-regulation problems.
I'm currently working on flossing everyday and soon I'm gonna try to add brushing my teeth in the morning.
Phone alarms help.

Saying I have "problems" with self discipline would be a massive understatement. It's been something I've struggled with pretty much ever since I've had responsibilities. It wasn't really much of a problem to me until my teenage years, when I started losing the motivation to even do things I should otherwise enjoy. If I could actually take charge and get motivated to do things for once, that would be a huge breakthrough for me.
