My special interests are quite useful. My main one has been space travel (and the physics behind it) for 13 years, but lately I have been obsessing over computer programming which has been fun. Yesterday I made a program that calculates prime numbers and I have been running that all night, today I might try to make a program that makes use of the internet.

I also just barely got distracted and figured out a way to optimize my prime number calculation program.

I have had the same, special interests since early/middle childhood, and I have always felt far more of a connection with them (architecture, music, the ocean) than any other entity. I do think some of my autistic traits have resulted in the intensity and depth of my interest. At one time, I took my obsession with the preservation of historically significant structures to unconventional heights.

I know that a lot of people are into the same things I am and not all of them are Autistic. However, I don't think they all necessarily like them in the same way that I do. I like my way, however and I personally think I would be a lot different without my Autism and I'm okay with the way I am :D
