The need to avoid stress and people who push you
I think it is very wise and I would ideally like to have a super low stress lifestyle.
If someone slates me for it, why should i care. Some people will always say something what ever you do and not everyone has your welfare at heart.
If you have to listen to someone, listen to people who you really trust and love. Also listen to people who are in control of your health, and if you are in receipt of income from benefits then listen to them.
All the other people's opinions are like blowing in the wind.
Don't worry.

Even though I often view my job as boring, I guess I am lucky. I am an educator, so my routine schedule is the same day after day. And as for communicating with the students, that is minimal since it is a computer driven class. I mainly just monitor to make sure they are working. I spend the majority of my work day behind the desk saying nothing.

I am going through this, too.
Unfortunately, thinking deeply enough about my experience with this to write out a more thorough post is also stressing me out. I was crying after only starting to formulate a reply.

"Everybody feels like that"
"Nobody wants to get up early and go to work"
"Lots of people work far more hours a day than you"
Maybe if I had a job that I enjoyed, I might be more motivated to do more hours. Right now I'm not keen on my job, and I want to spend as little time there as possible, with earning just about enough money to live.
I'd like to work somewhere where you pack up your things and go home dead on the time your contracted shift ends, and not after. I know people who work at places that close at 5pm and everybody goes home. They get regular coffee breaks and they are not forced to do unpaid overtime, like we are at my place.
Pack up your things and leave on time then. What are they going to do? Fire you for leaving when your shift ends? lol
Actually they might. I used to work in the bakery at Walmart, and if you were slammed with customers during the day and didn't manage to finish stocking the shelves or panning up the frozen bread to be baked the next day, or bagging up the bread that was baked that morning, and you just walked away and left it there at the end of your shift, you'd get in a lot of trouble, so we had to work overtime, or we would get fired. Thank god I don't work there anymore!

Thanks to Olympiadis for my fantastic avatar!
I can understand the need to avoid stress, but it can sometimes put one in a difficult personal situation. I do shudder at the thought of all the dramas coworkers seem to mire themselves in, though. I simply can't participate when past people have attempted to drag me into their sordid, petty workplace arguments. Jobs can be very stressful indeed, and for those who do have the knack of speaking the dual languages of office bravado and hot air - good for them, but they are wrong to look down on those who can't blend in so well.

Some people have the "work is work" attitude, where they don't mind where they go or what they do because, to them, it's all work. But I don't see it as that myself. Some types of work would suit me and my needs, where as other types of work would not. Even cleaning jobs can be different depending on the environment you are cleaning.
Some jobs are more chaotic than others, some require more expectations than others.
