If she don't have an issue w/touch, you might try a Chiropractor. They can sometimes help w/migraines. I used to have sever migraines, (blackouts, vomiting, ect...3-4 times a week). The Nuerologist couldn't find the problem, but the Chiropractor did. I still get some occassionally, that time of the month, weather, stress, ect.. But not as sever, or as often. Much more managiable.

I've had migraines since I was 16, and I even had to switch brands of birth control pills because the first one triggered them. I get them on occasion, and my triggers are too much red wine(more than 2 glasses), too little sleep, and hot, humid weather. For me, Excedrine Migraine works, but as it has asprin, the best thing for your daughter is to have her see the doctor, who may refer her to a neurologist.

Had another one this afternoon--Just the "Aura", no pain, no nausea, or lethargy,
just that weird and distracting ocular effect. I hope they don't come back for a long time.

they are so frustrating arent they richie , i dont know if you know but the decent migraines still work on those silent migraines , although obviously it depends on how long your aura usually lasts as to wether its worth using a strong med.

I am so glad I don't get migranes the way I did from childhood through early adulthood...I was constantly laid up for hours....I get them sometimes but not as often....um...alot of times they were accompanied by nausea and could be brought on at the drop of a hat..by a whiff of bad air or by eating certain things..loud noises...rollercoasters...any excitement...

...good times good times

I've had sever headaches (some of them migraines) most of my life. I don't have them as much as I used to, but years ago the non-prescription stuff stopped working for me. I have a prescription for Midrin which helps a lot, and some of my headaches are muscle tension (sleeping too soundly & not turning over, for instance) so I also have a scrip for a muscle relaxant (Flexeril) which will completely knock it out - and about knock me out LOL - when I need to use it in addition to the Midrin. If I happen to have the muscle tension in my shoulders & neck but headache hasn't started yet, sometimes just a small dose of Flexeril prevents the whole thing. Thank goodness.

But the major migraines are just the worst.

I had migraines during my early teens they were exacerbated by flourescent lights at school. I did'nt have them for years but have started getting migraines as such again with photophobia, dizziness, nausea, electric shock type feeling in arms and hands. I think it would be beneficial to investigate whether they have a trigger for example a certain food, stress, weather/air pressure changes or perhaps sensitivity to light. In older girls it can be triggered by hormones and the pre-menstrual cycle.

My son suffered from bad headaches and at 10 had an MRI scan and has been dx with migraines he was on a tablet that he had to take everyday but that increased his aggression and anxiety so now he has a tablet (imigran) that he takes when he has a mirgraine. He is now 11 and suffers consent headaches and migraine 1 to 2 a month. I hadnt connected it before with aspergers but now i have read this thread it seems to be a common problem.

That's when my migraines began. Or at least when they began to occur frequently. Your son's lucky if he's only having a couple a month. I'd get them everyday were it not for the meds. At this point, I just go through the pain. It reached a level where medicine no longer helps.

Me neither, thankfully! I hardly ever get headaches (and when I do, it's usually related to something, like severe lack of sleep, and Excedrin kills it).

So is this looking like a possible AS symptom too? Or maybe just people who get headaches are posting?
