Generally speaking, I feel I fit-in----SPECIFICALLY speaking, if some person or group doesn't think I fit-in, chances are I don't want to fit-in with them anyway, so I'm okay with that.

It's not necessary for me to fit-in OR stand-out (unless it's necessary for a job)----it IS necessary, for me to be MYSELF.

When I was wee it was really important but I never managed it. When I was a teenager I went the other way and stood out in whatever way I could. Now I'm not bothered either way, I'm just happy being me. :)

I learned that whenever I tried to fit in I ended up standing out. By the beginning high school I stopped trying. If I ever fit in it wasn't intentional but I think for the most part I was invisible (which was fine). Since graduating I haven't come across anything where I felt the need to fit in. I imagine some careers might have that pressure but mine doesn't.

I'd vote for "important". It's less important than essensial but more important than insignificant. Seems you left out the middle thing.

Why is it important? We are social beings. Why is it not essensial? Being dependent on something is not attractive and will be counterproductive. I enjoy spending time by myself anyway and I can be happy doing that for a long time. Fitting in to others standards isn't essensial. However having your goals aligned with the norm is beneficial. I'd say values should at least be in line with that which makes more people happy than unhappy. Usually such goals are relatable or can be considered deep.

Did you vote for None of the above? My apologies, I can't edit it. I think NT's naturally conform and adapt to their environment where we tend to be rigid.

Totally unwanted, for me.

I look at normal society and am frankly disgusted by most aspects of it... I've no desire to ever be a part of it. As it is, I kinda feel like I dodged a bullet. Or a giant hail of bullets.

Pretty much my views on society. I only want a friend as a playmate. Since, the only person who plays with me is my brother. Other than that no. I don't want to fit in, since I can't fit in. Unless I'm among a crowd of extremely eccentric.
