I honestly don't think sex changing surgery for transgenders should exist. Changing somebody's physical sex will not do that and that person will remain an outsider.
Just adopt the idea there is male, female, male-female, and female-male. No one had to pay for expensive hormones and society accepts the notion of a guy who has a doll.

Oh man, that's harsh. I would be horrified if I woke up with men's business. I'd book the first available appointment to get that corrected. I assume that's how trans people feel.
Indeed that is quiet harsh. I don't know anyone that's transgender personally but I can somewhat identify with them for the simple fact that I am genderqueer.

I was born female, though I strongly identify as male. I was thinking of getting the operation for years. Last year, I've decided to spend $100 on a German helmet instead. I wear the helmet as a marker to show that I'm Transgender and I strongly identify as male. A lot less people are calling me Miss and Madame which is good.

For my part, I believe that trans people are mentally ill and that it is as foolish to seek to transform a biological male into a female or vice versa than it is to transform an autistic person into an NT. It's better to try and support them into accepting what they are without reservations. The trend of giving grade schoolers hormones in particular is destructive and disgusting.

Thank you for adding your opinions to the discussion.
I think it possible that your opinion may be mistaken regarding mental illness.
The experience of the majority of trans people in my circle is that mental illnesses such as episodes of dispression arose from what their heart was and their body was not matching. Their experience has been that the once starting transitions their mental health has improved significantly. I have observed a significant increase in contentment and decrease in stress.
I am not certain how 'Transgender Activists' target autistic people. Who are the activists?
With a minimum age of 16 set out for prescribing cross sex hormones, I am not sure quite what you mean by prescribing hormones for children.
I note in the testimony of many transgender people that the sense of what is in the heart not matching what is in the body had been present from an early age.
In cases where there is severe distress doctors have bee able to lessen distress by prescribing a hormone blocker. This postpones puberty which many trans people have described as a troubling time. This is not the same as hormones and it is reversible. It gives time to be able to think without distress confusing matters.

I have an idea. Some people my not like it but I go on anyway.
I believe, lets say there are boys the don't feel right in their body, because I personally hate my body too as it makes me all kinds of pains and s**t, and they may go like "maybe if I was a girl the body would feel better", which it won't, because it's the badly wired >autistic< body which is kind of annoying them, regardless of gender.
The other theory would be that they can't identify with ANY gender. so if they are boys they want to be girls and if they are girls they want to be boys, not because they can't identify with their biologic gender, but because they can't identify with the concept of gender. I don't know, maybe they want to neutralize their gender, which a gender reassignment would do nicely, as you are neither considered a full blown boy nor full blown girl at the end, but something "in between". like the genetic gender and the given gender neutralize each other, and they don't have to identify with either.
I'm personally very confused about my actual gender, but I take it as it is: mere confusion and indecisiveness. I'm not going to get a surgery or anything just because I'm mentally "genderless". The whole gender stuff don't make sense to me at all and I think that's a thing with autism or PDD.

Stupid society gender roles.
I honestly don't think sex changing surgery for transgenders should exist. Transgender isn't about society and gender roles. I used to think the same about it. I thought people were trans because they didn't fit into the gender role of their gender or because they didn't like having body hair or like using the guy's restroom or because they wanted the same privaldges as a woman, etc. But that is not what it is at all.
Also it's very hard to get a reassignment surgery. You need to have a diagnoses of gender identity disorder for one and two you need to already be in treatment for it and people who get it have already been taking hormones and have been diagnosed with GID.

Does that really work? If I saw someone with a cool looking helmet on I would, admittedly, have a LOT of questions. But my questions would look something like this:
1. Where did you get that helmet?
2. Is it an authentic helmet?
3. Is it comfortable?
4. Can I try it on?
5. Sorry, didn't mean to be weird...where can I find one?
6. During what kind of functions do you wear the helmet?
7. Were the people you bought it from also wearing them?
and so on and so forth and probably gender would be somewhere like...

I was thinking of a reply along these lines, but I cannot say it better than this.
